Chapter 11

The next morning Amir was alone in the tent. The wind has died. The ground is white with snow, the campsite eerily quiet. The tent unzips and Amir comes out to find Bella looking at a wolf staring at Amir, sitting on his haunches.

"Hi, Seth" Bella said.

Seth-wolf pants a little; it passes for "hello". Amir looks at smirking.

"Oh this is Seth?" Amir asked joking around knowing it is him.

"Yes, it is" Bella said. Seth seem to roll his eyes and look at him.

"Where's Jacob? Did he already... -" "Not yet" Edward said. They turns as Edward rounds the peak, joins her with Alec.

"He's checking to see if the woods are clear before he goes" Alec said. Edward wraps his arms around her. Seth-wolf jogs off to Amir. Amir rub his fur before he jogs off.

"I'm surprised you visit me, Alec" Amir said.

"Alice and Jasper getting ready with Jane. The newborns should be coming soon" Alec said wrapping his arms around Amir. Amir wraps his arms around him hugging him.

"It's going to be a ugly fight"

"Well you are worth fighting for" Alec said. Amir kisses his cheek.

"I'm really sorry about last night. I couldn't have been easy on you" Bella said to Edward.

"It definitely won't make my list of top ten favorite evenings" Edward said.

"You have a list?" Bella asked. "All ten I spent with you. Number one is when you said you'd marry me. Mrs. Cullen"

"This is the twenty-first century; I always want to hyphenate my name" Bella said.

"You're marrying him?" Jacob said. She spins to find Jacob has reappeared. His face is devastated, rage, betrayal.
"Jake... You knew he was listening?"

"He deserves to know" Which confirms for Jacob that it's true. He turns, strides toward the woods. Bella starts to run after him.

"Well that was something" Amir said. Alec nods.

"Indeed luckily we all not in a love triangle" Alec said. It was silent for a while. Edward cringe deeply.

"What's wrong Edward?" Amir asked.

"She let the kiss happen" Edward said.

"Damn a cheater" Alec mumbles out. Bella hurries back to the tent.

"Edward" He appears from around the rock, comes toward her. She sees his face, stops.

"You saw?" Bella asked.

"No. But Jacob's thoughts are very loud"
Edward said. "I don't know what happened"

"Bella, you knew exactly what was happening" Amir said laughing. Bella glare at him.

"Yet she is acting like she doesn't" Alec said.

"You love him" Edward mumbles out.

"I love you more" Bella said. "I shouldn't have forced you to choose."

"Please don't be understanding. I don't deserve it" Bella said.

"It's my fault. When I went away, I left you bleeding, and he stitched you up. I can't blame you for something I made necessary" Edward said. Amir notice they having a private conservation and knowing himself. He likes to be nosey.

"Don't you dare blame yourself" Bella said.

I just want you to be happy, no matter –" He stops abruptly turns to see Seth-wolf loping out of the woods, growling. Edward reads his thoughts.
