A massive fire burns as the Cullens and the wolves hurriedly drag what's left of the newborns to it for the incineration. A purple-black smoke rises. Edward and Alec race out of the trees with Bella and Amir, bee-lining for Alice and the rest of the Cullens gathered near the fire.
"Let me guess the Volturi coming now sister?" Alec asked.
"Yes, brother" Jane said.
"How long" Edward asked.
"A few minutes. Maybe ten" Alec said. Amir looks for Leah.
"They timed their arrival well" Rosalie said.
"Probably hoping the newborns took a few of us out" Emmett said. Alec turns and see a newborn.
"Why is she alive?" Alec said just as Edward asked, "What's she doing here?"
Amir looks to the fire by which cowers the newborn.
"We offered her safe haven if she stopped fighting, she took it" Esme said.
"I told her they not going to let her brother. They won't listen" Jane said to Alec. Alec shakes his head.
"The pack needs to leave. The Volturi won't honor a truce with the werewolves" Carlisle said.
"Where's Jacob?" Bella asked. "There..." Edward points. On the tree line clear across the field. Jacob wolf emerges. Bella sighs with enormous relief.
Amir still don't see Leah Jacob sees her as well, starts toward her but suddenly he hears a vicious snarl coming from behind him in the woods. In the woods, A light grey wolf cornering one last male newborn who was hiding. Leah charges.
"Leah, don't!" Amir yelled. The male newborn maneuvers out of her way, spins and grabs her ruff, fiercely yanking her off her paws but Jacob leaps on the male newborn tackling him. They roll into the clearing where Jacob bites off a piece of his face, but the male newborn gets his arms around Jacob and crushes him.
Jacob howls in agony transforms back into human. Bella and Amir sees this.
"Jacob!" Bella yelled. The other wolves are instantly there and pounce on the male newborn, their teeth forcing him to release Jacob who crumples to the ground. As they pull him apart, Edward and Carlisle appear at Jacob's side.
Bella racing across the field to reach Jacob. Jacob have a twisted arm. Carlisle quickly examines him as he writhes in pain; Edward steadies him, gripping his hand.
"Hold on, Carlisle is going to take care of you" Edward said.
"The bones on the right half of his body are shattered" Carlisle said. Jacob, in excruciating pain, squeezes Edward's hand. Bella reaches them, dropping to her knees beside Jacob. She strokes his face, trying to comfort him.
"Bella" Jacob said. "Jake, I'm right here"
Sam, Paul, Jared, Embry, Quil and Leah, now in human form race up.
"Jacob, you idiot. I had it" Leah said. Amir stands by her side.
"Leah" Sam said in a warning. Amir couldn't help the growl come out.
"I need to set the bones before his accelerated healing kicks in. It's already starting" Carlisle said.
"We need to get him out of here. We're not going to win a fight with the Volturi" Edward said.
"We'll take him back to Billy's" Sam said. Carlisle turns to Sam. "I'll be there as soon as I can"
"Hang in there, Jake. We got you" Bella said. Jacob cries out in pain as the pack lift him. Bella agonizes as she watches them disappear into the woods. She and Edward exchange a look of shared concern.
Amir walks over to Alice and Jasper standing between them. They protectively stay with him. Alec and Jane in front of Amir.
"They're here" Alice said. The Cullens gather in the center of the field. Amir sees the Volturi arrived through the oily smoke from the fire.
"It appears you've done our work for us" Felix said. 2 guards behind Felix and Dementri. Taking in Bella as well.
"Impressive. I've never seen a coven escape an assault of this magnitude intact" Felix said.
"We were lucky" Carlisle said.
"I doubt that" Felix said.
"It appears we missed an entertaining fight" Demetri said.
"Yes. It's not often we're rendered unnecessary" Felix said.
"If you'd arrived a half hour ago, you would've fulfilled your purpose. Jane: Pity" Edward said. Demetri then sees the newborn, crouching by the fire.
"You missed one"
"We offered her asylum in exchange for her surrender" Carlisle.
"That wasn't yours to offer" Felix said aggressively. "Why did you come?" One guard vanish and appear behind Bree having her in a choke hold.
"They came to destroy us to kill Bella and Amir" Esme said.
"Who created you?" Felix asked. The guard tighten more.
"You don't need to do that. She'll tell you anything you want to know" Esme said to them. The guard release her a little but still having her in a choke hold.
"I know" Carlisle puts a hand on Esme's shoulder. Felix waits for an answer.
"I don't know Riley wouldn't tell us. He said our thoughts weren't safe" Bree said. The guard was about to break her head off but Edward said, "Her name was Victoria. Perhaps you knew her"
Bree's pain abruptly ceases. Felix faces Edward. The other two Volturi are sudden positioned behind Felix. We didn't even see them move.
The air is tense. This could turn bad, fast. Carlisle intercedes with great and purposeful calm. "Edward. If the Volturi had knowledge of Victoria, they would've stopped her. Isn't that right, Felix?"
"Of course. Demetri" Demetri moves to Bree.
"She didn't know what she was doing. We'll take responsibility for her. Give her a chance" Esme begs.
"The Volturi don't give second chances. Keep that in mind. Caius will be interested to know that she's still human" Felix said.
"The date is set" Bella said. Felix is ever so slightly taken aback by Bella's confidence. His look lingers on Bella, this human. Edward stands ready to defend her. Felix turns to Demetri.
"Take care of that, Demetri. I'd like to go home" Felix said. The guard push her to Demetri. Demetri with his enormous strength, easily tears Bree from limb to limb. Her screams quickly cease, though the metallic screeching sound continues.
"Still not going to reject your mate Alec and Jane? The Volturi missed you" Felix asked.
"No, I'm still staying. I join the Cullens now" Jane said.
"Alright, Thank you, Demetri. Until next time" They took off. The Cullens can do nothing but stand by, grim-faced. Esme tries not to watch as the fire burn
