Amir walking with Bella as she pricks her finger and touch the tree. They move up the trail to the next tree, touching it was well. A cold wind blows. The clouds above are dark. She continues, making her way to the clearing. They emerge into the empty field. Bella touches another tree. Edward comes up behind her.
"Thanks for walking with her Amir and You're going overboard" Edward said.
"No problem" Amir said.
"If this is all I can contribute, I want to be thorough" Bella said.
"The newborns will be frantic. Now let me put a bandage on that" He reaches for her left hand. She pulls it away, worried. "It's Okay. Don't make yourself uncomfortable"
"It doesn't bother me anymore" Edward said.
"I notice that. It's not bothering him" Amir said. Bella looks at him then Edward, "Since when?" Edward takes her hand. Puts a bandage on it.
"Since I spent 24 hours thinking you were dead" He continues to hold her hand. Gives her a quizzical look.
"You're not wearing your ring" Edward said puzzled.
"Well, I didn't want to risk losing it" Bella said. Edward mumbles, " Or risk Jacob seeing it?"
"He's going to find out" Amir said.
"I think we should wait to tell him. I mean, at least till after the fight" Bella said.
"I'm glad I was one the person you told this to" Amir said.
"Me too" Bella said smiling.
"If you're having second thoughts... -" "I'm not. I just want him to have a clear head"
"Whose head is unclear?" Jacob speaks up. They spin to find Jacob and Leah approaching.
"Nobody's, I hope" Bella said. Edward and Jacob nod curtly to one another. Jacob eyes the cloudy sky. Edward does the same. "Alice says there's a storm coming"
"It's going to happen" Amir said.
"And when it does. I feel like the battle will come" Leah said looking at Amir.
"Yeah, I can feel it. We should get going" Jacob said.
"I'll take the longer route. But I'll get there first. Set up camp" Edward said. Jacob and Leah nods. Edward turns to Bella, searing her face for ambivalence or surety. Finally, he kisses her forehead. "I'll see you in a couple of hours." He grabs her bag and some gear, leaves. Jacob eyes Bella.
"Something's up?" Jacob asked.
"A bunch of vampires trying to kill me and Amir"
"Same old, same old. Come on Leah let's run them there" Jacob said carrying Bella. Leah carries Amir.
They take off running. Leah runs with Amir, maintaining a steady jog, effortlessly carrying his weight. He holds onto her. Leah climbing the mountainside, going up and up. Leah reaches the peak of the mountain with Jacob where Edward waits near the 2 tents.
Snow falls in earnest now, glacial winds blow, they set them down. They hurry to the left side of the peak to find a campsite erected against the sheltering face of the peak. Edward stands by the tent pacing, waiting. He's acutely relieved to see her. He hugs her. Turns to Jacob "Thank you"
Jacob nods. Bella turns to Jacob as well. "You should get back before the storm hits"
"Yea, you too Leah" Amir said.
"I'm not going anymore if anything I'll keep you even more warm" Leah said.
Amir nods ok.
"If anything Seth will join us"
"No, I'm staying. You'll need my connection to the pack, to keep tabs on what's going on" Jacob said. Edward looks down, none-too-happy but knowing Jacob's right.
"You're not going to fight?" Bella asked.
"Seth will spell me in the morning. He's not happy about missing the action, but it'll keep him out of trouble" Jacob said. Edward notes her disappointment. Be he covers, guiding her toward the tent.
"Let's get you inside" Edward said.
Amir gets into the tent with Leah. He lays down comfortably looking up at the tent. Leah lays by him.
"Please be careful when you are out there" Amir said.
"I will. I'm sure your other mates will as well. They just getting prepared" Leah said.
"Are you fighting?"
"I have no choice, but to. It's alpha orders" Leah said.
"I get that" Amir said turning his head looking at her. She looks back at him into his eyes. They stare at each other for a couple seconds before Leah eyes drift off and look at his lips. Amir looks at hers. Slowly leaning in their lips collide.
Amir moves his lips against her tasting her sweet soft lips. Leah leans more into him while kissing him. Amir places a hand on her cheek passionately deepening the kiss before it can get any further Seth comes in. They pull away.
"Anyone miss me?"
"Of course we do" Amir the only one that answer while Leah blushing in her own little bubble.
Seth crawl in on his other side cuddling him. Amir welcoming him into his arms.
"What did I missed?" Seth asked.
"Nothing much" Amir admits.
"Is it because you're both was too busy lips locking?" Seth asked.
"Shut up Seth" Leah mumbles out making him laugh.
"Do I get a kiss to?"
Amir looks at Leah. She looks back at him then looks at Seth.
"Fine, but only this time" Leah said.
"But he's my mate to" Seth said. Leah roll her eyes.
"Whatever" Amir laughs and gives Seth a kiss on his lips. Seth smiles brightly. Seems like the sunshine was blasting out of him with happiness.
"Time for us to go to bed now. We have to wake up early" Leah said. Amir nods agreeing.
"Goodnight" Amir said closing his eyes as they cuddle into him.
"Goodnight, Amir"
