A minute before six Kara arrived at Hayley's door, knocking politely.

When the werewolf opened the door Kara's eyes lit up in appreciation of the body on display. "You look stunning" she complimented sincerely "shall we?"

Hayley blushed slightly, Kara wasn't wearing anything different than she usually wore, but her form fitting jeans, cashmere blouse.. did wonders for her figure. The usual high heeled ankle boot gave Kara a few inches over the werewolf — as her hair fell into natural waves. The subtle make up on made her baby blue eyes pop. Yes this woman was gorgeous, her natural red lips only caused Hayley to stare a moment longer before letting her eyes settle on the kind blue. Strange .. it was odd seeing Kara like this. The woman barely showed her emotions on her best day but right now .. it was as if she was seeing a completely different person. The woman sort of reminded her of an onion the thought caused her to chuckle slightly.

As they strolled through the busy streets , her laugh didn't go unnoticed "What has you laughing so?"

Hayley shook her head, allowing herself to lean into Kara's body more as the streets filled up with people. Laughing and partying enjoying theirselves. "I just compared you to an onion."

Kara blinked back her confusion , slightly offended "Are you implying I smell little wolf?"

Hayley's eyes widened "Oh no! That's not what I meant. You smell very lovely, Uhm.. yeah you smell like sandalwood.." She muttered embarrassment coloring her cheeks.

Kara snorted "Sandalwood? Hmm that's a first."

Hayley sighed quietly "Well you do, I don't know whether it's the perfume you use but it's a mixture of floral scents,it's rich but not overly sweet.. kinda with with earthy undertones."

"Well.. it's not a perfume. I don't believe I've ever used perfume. Being half vampire and half werewolf makes my senses doubly sensitive, the sharp smells of perfumes are enough to make my eyes water. I've hated it ever since I could remember." Kara admitted thoughtfully "So I suppose what you're smelling is my natural scent.. that and I have my clothes laundered so it may be the laundry using some kind of fabric softener that's rather pleasant to us supernatural folk."

Hayley giggled before full out laughing "oh my god, I didn't expect our conversation to be so.. so normal."

Kara chuckled along secretly enjoying the ability to make her date for the evening genuinely laugh "Well aside from us being supernatural Hayley and partaking in some rather questionable activities at times .. these are daily things that people discuss or converse I sincerely hope you weren't expecting me to speak about the issues I'm dealing with ..running the city and all?"

Hayley shook her head "No of course not, I'm happy, I'm happy we can have a normal conversation about the type of fabric softener you prefer. Rather interesting stuff"

Kara rolled her eyes "Now if you're not saying I smell like an onion.. why make the comparison?"

Hayley smiled at the passing float of the casket girls sipping on her juice while Kara sipped on some alcoholic beverage "Mmm well since you picked me up, your eyes seem lighter, the usual pain behind them aren't .. as visible. They look kinder I suppose" she shrugged trying to find the right words "and I just thought that you had layers.. like an onion."

Kara licked her lips understanding what the werewolf was getting at

"You know Hayley .. my life hasn't been kind, I'm sure you'll realize why.. I was born different. I was expected to be a girl but when I started showing signs of something no girl would ever have .. it upset Mikael greatly." She sighed quietly "I won't give you the gritty details.. not on our first date but.. I will say that when I was younger like many children.. I had hopes and dreams, I had wishes and wants..." she shook her head gently "My dreams quickly vanished , my wants became needs and my hopes all but disappeared.. Mikael started it, the death of my youngest brother Heinrich almost finished it.
