Now Willow may have lost her memories in the accident but the one thing she hasn't lost sight of was her ability to know when people were hiding things from her.
No one had told her why she was no longer with Jeremy, bearing in mind Willow had dated Jeremy all throughout high school. He was even an apprentice under her fathers law firm whilst her father was still alive. Now that law firm was all Jeremy's. The only reason she knew the firm now belonged to him was by looking him up online
Fed up and frustrated by the not knowing, Willow opted to find out this information herself by doing a bit of digging.
Willow headed down to Tony's workshop determined to pull some answers from him 'Hey Tony'
Tony snapped his head around searching for the subject of the intrusion but smiled when he saw it was Willow 'Well hey there little one. How are you doing? I have to say you're looking pretty good now. Hardly a scrape or a bruise has been left from the accident'
'Yeah, the physical side to me seems to be healing really well. Just a shame that the mental side of me can't catch up. It's pretty hard to piece together things when you're missing gaps in your memory' she exclaimed whilst narrowing her eyes at Tony.
Feeling like the spotlight was being shone on him, Tony shifted awkwardly tinkering around with some equipment on his desk 'Yeah I can imagine that's difficult. Give it some time though and I'm sure it will come back to you'
Willow sighed, he really wasn't going to make it easy on her 'We've known each other for a really long time, haven't we Tony?'
'Yeah I would say so. I've known you since you were a little girl of 11'
'Exactly and you've been there through all of my accomplishments and struggles so I need you to tell me something'
Tony had a feeling he knew what she was about to ask but tried to put it off anyway 'Oh yeah... and what is it that you want to know?'
'What happened with me and Jeremy? Why am I no longer with him?'
'Why do you want to open old wounds Willow. Can't you trust me when I say that he was.... no still is bad news. The best thing that you ever did was leaving that man'
'Shouldn't that be up to me to decide though. Shouldn't I be allowed to know what it is that caused us to split because I have to say Tony that I'm at a loss here. I was happy with Jeremy. That I remember, so how the hell did I go from being head over heels in love with him to being married to a man I barely knew?'
'Willow somethings should be left in the past. You should think of this as a blessing that you can't remember'
Willow could feel the anger bubbling up inside of her 'A blessing. A fucking blessing. No Tony, I don't see any of this as fucking blessing. What is it that you're hiding from me?'
Unbeknownst to the pair, they had attracted a bit of an audience. One person listening in happened to be Bucky and hearing how the conversation was escalating, he felt that it was a good time to step in 'Hey, is everything ok? I was out looking for you actually Willow but then heard raised voices.'
Willow felt guilty that she lost her temper with Tony in that manner 'Everything is fine Bucky. Myself and Tony just had a bit of a disagreement, that's all. Nothing to worry about though'
Tony took this as an opportune moment to leave before the conversation escalated any further 'And on that note. I'm going to leave you guys to it. We can pick this up again later Willow'
She glared at him as he walked away 'Fine' Willow states through gritted teeth 'But this conversation isn't over Stark'
Turning back to Bucky, she'd realised that he was now a lot closer to her than he was a mere few minutes ago. There was something about him that really effected her and drew her in. Willow could feel her heartbeat quicken and judging by the smirk on Bucky's face, he also knew how much he was affecting her.
Determined to get a bit of control over the situation, Willow took a few steps back 'so ummm you said you were looking for me?'
Bucky felt disappointed when she moved away from him but he had to admit he liked how she was so nervous around him 'Yeah I wanted to see if you wanted to hang out today... like hang out with me.. just you and me... I'm going to stop talking now'
For weeks now, Bucky had tried to get her to spend some time with him alone but she wasn't ready. Everything was too confusing for her to even think about trying to understand the relationship she has with this man 'Oh, I already have plans today. I'm sorry'
Bucky couldn't hide his disappointment at being rejected again 'Ok, no worries'
Seeing how sad he looked caused the guilt to flood through 'Maybe we can do it another day though?'
Bucky smiled at that 'Yeah let's take a rain check on it'
'Looking forward to it'
'What plans have you got today? Can I help with anything?'
Willow shook her head 'Just a bit of pampering with a friend. Why... do you want to get a pedicure too'
Bucky laughed at that. This was the woman he remembered. The one who liked to throw jokes around 'I think I'm good. But you have fun though'
Willow watched him leave before turning to grab her purse. It wasn't a lie when she said she already had plans but she knew if anyone found out where she was going they would have something to say about it.
And all Willow wanted was answers.
Answers that she was determined to get
