Part 52 - Now I can Breathe

I subtly wiped my sweaty palms across my jeans, hoping that Jeremy didn't see. We'd been locked in this room, a room that once belonged to my father for the last two hours with lawyers whilst Jeremy signed over half of everything that he owned to me.

Well it was actually everything that he owned but he isn't to know that yet. Watching as his lawyer directed him where to sign, explaining how everything was in order where in reality, that lawyer was on my payroll and had helped me tremendously in gaining Jeremy's trust.

He looked up at me smiling and I gave him a loving smile whilst trying not to show the grimace on my face. For nine months now, I had put this plan into action. Living with the man I despised, letting him kiss me, hold me but never anything more. I convinced him that this time round, I wanted to wait until we were sure we both trusted each other.

In reality it's because I didn't want his wandering hands pawing all over me. This body belonged to Bucky, heart, soul and physically, this was all his. I just had to hope that deep down he would forgive me for putting him through hell these past months.

I can tell from speaking to Steve that it won't be easy. I feel like he's keeping something from me and it has to be bad if he doesn't want to share this fact.

I'm brought out of my daydreaming by the lawyer confirming everything was in order and completed "Thank you Mr Garrett and Mr Jones on working on these contracts. We both appreciate it"

Jeremy shook their hands and I watched and waited for him to turn back round. As soon as he turned to face me with that smug smile, I knew the game was on "Well that's everything all signed. We now own all of this together, just like I'd dreamt. This is how it should've been all along"

And just like that, I let my facade drop "Yes, it's always good to have your accounts in order. Now pack up your shit and get the fuck out of this office. Don't try to go back home either as that also belongs to me and the locks have already been changed. You'll find your clothes dumped out on the front lawn"

Jeremy stared at me dumbfounded with confusion etched all over his face and it took everything in me not to laugh at him "I'm sorry, what?!? Do you mind repeating that"

I sauntered over towards the desk, letting my hands slide along the wood before perching on it to face him "Those documents that you just signed weren't to hand over half of what you own, it was to sign everything back over to me. You now own nothing, there isn't even a penny to your name. But me, I get back my dads business, the family homes and you get nothing. Just as it should be"

He snorted "Very funny Willow. We both know you wouldn't do that"

I laid a cold stare at him, I had no emotions left for this man in front of me and I was done with all of his games "I'm not laughing Jez. Steve..... it's time to show Jeremy here the door"

Jeremy turned just in time to see Steve come out through the side door "You heard the lady. You aren't welcome here anymore. In fact you're not welcome anywhere near her. Now leave"

That's when I saw the penny drop for him. This is when he knew the game was up. I couldn't help but smile smugly. I guess this is what they call check mate "What the hell is he doing here? What is going on?"

Rolling my eyes, I stool tall and proud before moving to stand in front of him. I wanted to be up close when he realised there's no way out of this "Keep up Jez. It's not like you to be this slow on the uptake. Did you really think I'd let you get away with what you did to my dad? With what you did to me and my family"

And then he did something completely unexpected. He flung himself onto his knees in front of me, trying to grab hold of my hands but I pulled away from him before he could touch "Please Willow. Whatever is going on, we can work this out. I love you and I know you love me"

I couldn't help the laugh that escaped me upon hearing that nor could I miss the amused glint in Steve's eyes "Come on now mate. You're just embarrassing yourself. Willow hatched this plan out from start to finish and what a plan it was. You're finished. Your name is mud and you're living in a fantasy world if you think that she loves you"

Lunging at me, the desperation was seeping through every pore of his "Willow please.... Let's talk about this"

Ignoring his pleas I continued "I also found the security footage of the day you walked out and left my father to die. You're a real piece of shit, you know that. How could you do that to someone you claimed was like a father to you. The police are outside that door where they'll be looking to speak to you about that footage"

Jeremy let out a growl whilst trying to reach me but Steve held him back with ease "You bitch. You played me all along. Whilst we're being honest then, you should know that I cheated on you all the way through out relationship. You were never anything special to me"

I watched as Steve grabbed hold of the lapels of Jeremy's jacket before smashing him against the nearest wall "I swear to god, if you keep talking about her like that...."

Looking at Jeremy I could see that he was void of everything that I once loved in this man. I watched him look at me before turning his gaze back to Steve "Does it bother you to know that I've had her when you are literally stood on the sidelines waiting for any scraps she might give you"

Steve slammed him harder against the wall until I placed a hand on his shoulder "Hey. Don't let him get to you like that, he's not worth it" I then returned my face back to the parasite before me "Goodbye Jeremy, I hope you get the life you deserve"

I watched as Steve escorted him out to the waiting officers. As soon as he was out of view, I collapsed to the floor with a sob, knowing it was done. My plan had worked. I was finally rid of him"
