Since returning from seeing Jeremy, Willow had spent most of her time locked back in her room again. Seeing him brought back so many emotions and not knowing who to trust caused Willow to distance herself from the group again.

A knock on her door brought her out of her internal misery. Looking over at the door she spotted Steve with his arms folded leaning against it.

'Hey.... I just wanted to check in with you. We haven't seen you in a couple of days and I know everything must seem really confusing to you right now'

There was something about the tone that Steve used that made Willow feel that he was being genuine 'Confused is definitely a word I would use to sum up how I'm currently feeling'

Steve wandered further into the room 'You mind if I sit down next to you?' Willow moved further up the bed effectively inviting him to sit in the space she had just vacated 'You're Bucky's best friend. Right?' Steve nodded in return 'Can you tell me what we were like. Me and Bucky I mean. I'm interested to get your perspective on our relationship'

Steve smiled at the question 'Honestly you guys were kind of nauseating. You were so sickeningly in love that it was like you two forgot others existed when you were near each other'

Willow smiled at that thought 'Really?'

'Oh yeah. He literally looked at you like you hung the moon and the stars and you weren't much better'

'Wow... it sounds like a love I always dreamed of. I always wanted someone to stop in their tracks whenever I entered the room, to be with me and not care what anyone else thought about us and to be there for me no matter not' looking down at the bed she continued 'I'm not sure I ever had that with Jeremy you know. I loved him and I was happy with him but I'm not sure if he ever loved me in the same way'

'I can promise you that Bucky still looks at you like that. You might even notice if you didn't run out of the room every time he walked in'

Willow playfully shoved him 'I don't run out of the room, I walk at a very fast pace'

Steve laughed out loud at that 'Give him a chance. Get to know him again and then you can decide if what you had is something worth fighting for'

'Ah so that's the reason you're really here. You're setting out a case for him'

Steve shook his head 'No I came in because I was genuinely concerned about you. We were close too you know, before the accident. I would even go so far to say that we were best friends. I just want you to be happy. Both of you'

Willow appreciated the sincerity in his voice 'Ok I'll give him a chance'

And as if she had summoned him herself, Bucky appeared by her door 'I thought I could hear laughter coming from in here. Am I interrupting anything?'

Steve rose from his spot on the bed 'Nope. Me and Willow were just catching up'

Bucky looked over at Willow causing butterflies in her stomach. There was no denying that even though her mind didn't remember him, her body certainly did.

'I was actually wondering if you would like to hang out... with me I mean. Unless you guys are in the middle of something'

'You're only interrupting us talking shit about you' she stated smiling up at him

Bucky couldn't help the smile that sprung on his face. This was his Willow. He loved that he was getting to see a glimpse of the carefree Willow that he knew and loved 'Well in that case, maybe I could join in'

'Sorry you're too late to join in with this debate but I'll be sure to invite you to the next one'

This caused Bucky to laugh out loud and Willow loved that she had caused it. With his laugh and piercing eyes that were zoomed in on her she felt a zip of electricity go straight to her core. She knew right at that moment that this guy was going to be the death of her

Willow looked up to see Steve giving her a pleading look. She knew he was right, she had to give him a chance and get to know him 'Sure we can hangout'

Bucky looked genuinely shocked as if he had been preparing himself to be rejected again 'Great. In that case, I'll meet you out in the garden in 10 mins'

'Yep that works for me'

'Excellent. I'll see you out there' Bucky walked out of the room to set things up but not before mouthing a 'Thank you' to Steve.

Steve smirked at Willow 'So it looks like you're going to take my advice after all. Good for you'

'I know but we're just hanging out so really there is no pressure... right? Or is this a date? Oh my god what if it's a date, what do I wear? I'm completely freaking out now Rogers. This is where you're meant to help'

Steve bent down so he was eye level with her 'You have absolutely nothing to freak out over. You don't even have to label this ok?' Willow nodded 'You can make this to be whatever you want it to be. Don't put unnecessary pressure on yourself'

'You're right... we're just going to hang out. Get to know each other and maybe a bit of teasing because let's face it, watching Bucky squirm is kind of funny'

'Oh I agree with you there. Now go get ready and have fun'

Willow jumped off the bed 'Yes Cap' before she left the room, she turned back to Steve and gave him a kiss on the cheek 'Thanks for checking in with me. I really appreciate it'

And with that, she bounded out of the room to find Bucky
