Part 39 - The Whole Truth

Willow looked at Bucky, trying to keep the tears at bay. Thinking back to that awful night

'After I left Steve, I knew I had to track down Jeremy and know for myself if it was all the truth. I think some part of me knew deep down that it was and I now believe that's why everything with Jeremy felt so wrong. Because deep down I knew he must've done something bad for me to turn my back on him'

Bucky pulled his hand gently through her hair to help calm her and nodded for her to continue 'I wasn't sure he would be truthful to me so I made a stop first at the compound to speak to Wanda. I told her everything Steve had said but that I had to know for myself if it was all a lie and of course she agreed to help me. We'd already agreed that she would work her magic like she did with us that day she was trying to get me to remember everything. She was going to look into his mind and play it all in mine'

Willow stopped to wipe some of the tears away 'And then we headed to Jeremy's apartment so I could confront him'

'Hey Willow, what are you doing back already... oh and I see you've brought Wanda with you. Is everything ok?'

Looking at him, Willow could feel the anger bubbling in the way that he was just so nonchalant when talking with her. Like there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with their situation 'Yep. I need her here. You see Jeremy, I'm not entirely convinced that you've been completely honest with me and I don't actually believe you'd tell me the truth even when I asked'

Jeremy stares at her, feeling slightly worried and trying to grasp what she was implying 'Babe... what are you talking about. I'd always tell you the truth. You know that'

Rolling her eyes, Willow didn't look away from him when giving her command 'Wanda now'

Without any hesitation, Wanda used her powers to immobilise Jeremy and gain access to his mind. Rooting through, she found what she was looking for and used her other hand to allow it all to play out in Willow's mind

It was like she was standing there in her dad's office with them both. If she reached out she felt like she could almost touch her dad but none of it was real and Willow had only come here for one purpose... the truth.

She held her breath as she watched her dad speak 'There... everything has now been signed over to you. Now you leave Willow alone. I've done what you've asked for but now I need you to leave my daughter alone'

Jeremy leaned over the desk, half smiling 'As I promised old man, now that you've signed the business and all your properties over to me, I won't release the videos and photos that I have of me fucking your daughter in numerous ways. God knows you wouldn't want that content out for all the world to see'

Feeling his chest constrict, Willow watched her father rise from his desk, clutching at his chest 'Good now get out of my office and leave my daughter alone'

Halting his steps just a little, Jeremy looked over 'Are you feeling ok? Because you really don't look ok right now'

William felt the life slowly draining from him, reaching out he grabbed hold of Jeremy's jacket 'I think..... I think I'm having a heart attack. I need you to call an ambulance Jeremy'

Pulling out his phone, Jeremy started dialling 911 and then hesitated 'I mean I could do that... but why would I? You being gone would work in my favour'

William slipped to the floor gasping for breath 'You bastard.... She will never forgive you for this'

Jeremy laughed before placing the phone back in his jacket pocket 'Yeah I don't think I will call them after all. I mean we're here after hours so there is no one in the building to watch your demise and having your daughter on my arm as my wife... the future Mrs Cartwright. Well.... That will do my popularity wonders'

Trying to take a swing at him but to weak to do so, William looked up at him 'You leave her alone you bastard. Do you hear me... leave her alone'

Pacing around the office kicking the desk phone away so that he couldn't use it, Jeremy knelt down so he could look him in the eyes better 'She'll be upset for a while of course. But I'll be there soothing her, comforting her and it will be me she comes to rely on. Just think old man. Everything you've ever cared about will be mine with you gone. Your business, properties.... Your daughter'

Feeling another jolting pain to his chest, William looked at him 'You will never be good enough for her. No amount of money or popularity will ever make you good enough for her. Do you hear me?'

'I'll remember that when she's in my bed tonight and when I help her grieve you. It looks like you're time is almost up so I guess this is where we say farewell' 

Jeremy watched as the old man's eyes started to glass over and he took his last breath 'Goodbye old man'

Willow jumped back to the present, gasping as the tears rapidly fell and she tried to take in what she had just been shown. He watched her father die. He could've helped him but he taunted him in his final moments and then left him to die alone. He didn't deserve that and Willow's heart broke at the thought of her father going through that

Jeremy leaned forward and reached out for her 'Willow are the ok? What did she show you' looking at Wanda he gave her a scathing look 'What did you do witch?'

Wanda threw a beam of power at him. Not enough to hurt him but enough to unbalance him 'I did what she asked me to do. I showed her the truth'

Jeremy looked up at her from the floor 'Honey please. Whatever she showed you is a lie. We can work on this'

Willow pounced forward grabbing his chin hard 'You left him to die. You left my father to die you sick bastard. I promise you this.. I will make you pay for this. Mark my words'

Turning away from him, she ran out of the apartment, listening as both Wanda and Jeremy called her but knowing that she had to get as far away from him as possible. She knew who she wanted... she wanted Bucky.
