Staring out of the window watching the rain fall, Willow gripped the coffee cup tighter. Ever since she was a young girl, she loved the rain. One of the first dates she'd had with Bucky, ended with a kiss in the rain and she couldn't help but smile at the memory.

With her heart clenching at the thought of Bucky, Willow grabbed her phone and scrolled back through to find the photos of her and Bucky. It was a risk having them on her phone when Jeremy could literally find them but she couldn't bring herself to delete them.

In time, she hoped that Bucky would understand why she had to do this. Why it had to be this way and why she couldn't bring herself to ask Bucky to help her with this. He could get hurt and Jeremy had to believe that she was all in with just him.

Willow tried not to shudder when a light kiss to her cheek brought her out of her daydreaming. Smiling she turned to face him "Sorry I was in my own little world there for a second"

Chuckling, Jeremy grabbed his briefcase before placing a more chaste kiss to her lips "You always look really cute when you're thinking. I was only saying that I'm about to head out but I was thinking that maybe we could have a date night tonight. It's been a while and I want to prove to you that I do trust you"

Knowing that she would rather be anywhere but in close proximity to him forced her to swallow the bile rising  "Sure that sounds perfect"

Giving her one last kiss he practically ran out of the door "Be ready for 8pm sweetheart, leave the planning to me" he shouted before disappearing from view. Willow could only watch his back as he retreated out of the apartment.

Trying to contain the panic attack she was about to spiral into, Willow had to remind herself why she was doing this.

Smashing her cup into the sink, she placed a towel over her face before pressing it hard to cover the scream of frustration that had forced it's way out.

A persistent ringing brought her back to reality and a sense of relief hit her when she realised who was calling her "Steve?? Please tell me that's you"

A small sigh was released over the receiver "Yeah it's me. I just wanted to check in with you and see how things were getting on your end"

"It's going well I think although it's getting harder to pretend that I'm in love with the guy when I literally despise him"

Steve walked further out of the compound where he knew that super soldier hearing couldn't be heard "Willow..... I think maybe we should tell him"

For a few seconds confusion clouded her thoughts until she realised what Steve was alluding to "Tell him... you mean Tell Bucky. No, absolutely not. You can't Steve. He'll come barging in here and it will all be for nothing. Bucky can't know anything"

She could hear Steve sigh frustratedly over the phone "He's not doing good Willow. I'm going to be real honest with you here, I'm not sure that you'll have a relationship to come back to if you don't wrap this up soon"

Hearing that hurt far more than Willow would've expected and she had to push down the panic that she was feeling at losing Bucky forever over this "I've almost got Jeremy where we want him. It will happen any day now. I feel it"

Steve knew that would be the response. Nothing was going to stop Willow completing her task and he knew that. Watching his best friend crumbling before his eyes though was making him second guess what they were doing "Ok. What do you want me to do in the meantime and how can I help?"

"Keep doing what you have been" she all but shouted into the phone "I'm so close to getting everything that he took from me Steve. Just.... Just hold out for a little longer for me ok"

Trusting people didn't come easily to Steve but he knew Willow had a good heart, I mean both him and his best friend were in love with her so that should tell you something. He knew Willow needed his full support, she had no one else "Ok just make sure you're careful ok. We don't need anything to happen to you and call me the minute you know the game is up"

Willow wiped a tear from her eye. Not knowing if the tears were sadness for how she was making Bucky feel or relief that she still had Steve on her side "I will do and Steve..... look out for him for me. At least until I come home"

"I will do. Now go and do what you need to do so we can get you back home"

The day went much quicker than Willow would've liked and here she was sat in front of Jeremy listening to him ramble on like she had done for the last hour.

Jeremy cupped her cheek, essentially breaking her out of her thoughts "Maybe we should go away for a bit. You look drained and I've been trying to get your attention for the last five minutes"

Trying not to flinch back at his touch she smiled in his direction "As lovely as that sounds, we have too much on" she watched as the disappointment crossed over his face before dropping his hand "Oh and don't forget we're meeting the lawyers tomorrow"

Moving closer to her and tilting her chin up, he paused before continuing "Maybe when I sign half of everything over to you, will you then realise how serious I am about you. About us"

Leaning forward he kissed her and she allowed the moment, knowing that she needed to keep him on side "I love you Willow, more than I've ever loved anyone."

Threading their fingers together, she smiled up at him "Come on Casanova. You owe me dinner"

Willow was close to this all being over and getting revenge for what he did to her family. After tomorrow, she can get her life back and hope that Bucky will still be waiting for her.
