As the sun shone through the windows, Willow started to stir from her slumber. She stretched out her limbs feeling the ache everywhere from her antics with Bucky the night before. Stretching her arm out for Bucky, she realised she was alone in the bed and by how cold that side of the bed was, he had clearly been up for quite a while.

Slipping on her pink cotton robe, she pulled it tightly around her before fixing her hair into a messy bun at the top of her head.

Padding delicately across the landing, she could hear Bucky in one of the rooms holding down a conversation over the phone. Not wanting to disturb him, she continued her ascent down the stairs and into the kitchen.

Bucky had been such an amazing support system for her over the last couple of weeks that she wanted to do something for him in return. It wouldn't even begin to describe how thankful she actually is to have him looking after her the way he does, but a little picnic date sounded like the perfect escape for the afternoon.

Throwing half hazardly some sausage rolls and a frozen quiche in the oven, she set about making some sandwiches for them both containing their favourites of tuna Mayo and chicken salad. Whilst waiting for everything to cook, she sipped on a coffee that was definitely helping in waking and firing her up for the day before smelling that something was burning.

Grabbing at the oven she cursed when she pulled back the oven door to have smoke billowing out "Crap... of course I burnt the damn things" scraping off the worst of the burnt parts, she packed the picnic hamper with the food and drink and set off to find Bucky.

She knocked on the door and walked in without waiting for a response to find Bucky sitting comfortably in an office chair, smiling and opening up his arms for her

As soon as she was close enough, Bucky reached out with grabby hands and pulled her to him "I was wondering when you would get up. You looked so peaceful this morning that I didn't want to wake you"

Reaching down to place a small peck on his lips whilst lightly scratching her hand through his hair, she smiled at him "I've actually been up for a little while. In fact I've made us a little picnic that I thought we could have in the garden"

Kissing her again, he mumbled against her lips "Is that so?" To which she gave him a low giggle back "Yes... so stop distracting me with your kisses and get that cute little bit of yours outside"

As Willow went to pull away, he grabbed hold of her wrist and gently pulled her back so that she was no balancing on his lap "Nope, I don't think I'm finished with you yet"

Willow loved seeing him like this. So carefree and content. It was a sight that he didn't show that often and she was relishing in it "Later Buckaroo. But right now we have a picnic date to attend, so come on. Don't make me ask again Sergeant"

Bucky groaned as he watched her hips sway on the way out of the door and heard her laughter as she disappeared down the stairs. Slightly adjusting himself because hey, he's a man and can't always control those urges. He yanked himself up and followed her out to the garden

Rummaging through the basket, Bucky looked at the food.  As much as he tried not to laugh, he couldn't escape the laughter that broke through. Looking at Willow, he picked up the burnt items "Well it looks like some of the food is salvageable... maybe"

"I can't believe I burnt most of it" embarrassed she covered her face with her hands. "I thought you said we used to cook together. Judging by my attempt today, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that was a big fat lie"

"Not so much a lie but maybe an exaggeration. To be honest it mainly consisted of me supervising whilst you attempted to cook" Bucky dodged Willow's hand as she playfully reached out to smack him on the arm

Frowning slightly, she probed further "So are you trying to tell me that I've always been that bad of a cook. Because if that's the case, that's really tragic"

Bucky shifted slightly in his seat "Ummmm I feel like this is a trick question and no matter how I answer it will be wrong"

Willow's eyes crinkled as she howled with laughter watching Bucky trying to squirm out of answering "I'm going to take that as a yes then. I suppose I can't be good at everything. I need to let you be better than me on some occasions"

Watching her enjoy the moment and feeling comfortable enough to joke around with Bucky, he was reminded of a previous date back after they first met

Bucky looked at the floor hesitantly thinking about how he could get out of telling his date that her cooking and baking skills were horrendous "Hey, look.... I'm sorry I laughed at your attempt of making a cake. I'm sure if we cut the burnt pieces off, it will be fine"

Smiling at him, Willow moved closer so that if he just leant forward, he could kiss those lips of hers "We both know that you're lying but I appreciate the gesture anyway"

Yanking her closer by grabbing around her waist, Bucky watched her breath hitch as he whispered into her ear "You can't be good at everything doll"

Willow closed the distance between them until her lips were on his. He was honestly the best kisser she'd ever had and wasn't sure how she would carry on if she ever lost the love of this guy"

Bucky was brought back to the present by Willow touching his arm and quizzically looking at him "Yeah I suppose you have to let the rest of shine sometimes. Besides you're better at other things"

Now Willow knew a line when she heard one "Oh yeah and what might those be?"

Bucky stood up, holding out his hand to her "Why don't we go inside and I'll show you"

Taking his hand, they both giggled struggling to keep their hands off each other as they made their way back to the bed they'd not long left.
