C H A P T E R ~ F O U R T Y - O N E

MARINETTE POV:

As I was being dragged away from Adrien by Luka, I felt myself feeling a bit depressed. I don't know why though, I was being dragged away from my fucking enemy by my fucking crush!

I should be overjoyed at this moment!

But I just couldn't  shake the curious feeling away, so I looked back over my shoulder and see Adrien's confused but hurt stare in my direction. I looked back to the floor with a guilty expression on my face. I might hate him, but he had been really nice to me all morning, and I had just left him standing there alone!

"Hey, you good?" Luka asked.

I shook out of my daze, and snapped my head back up to meet his concerned expression.

"U-um, yeah! I'm totally fine! Why'd you ask?" I stated, a bit flustered.

"You kinda zoned out a bit." He paused, and his face went from content, to a deathly glare, "Did he do anything to you? Because I swear to god, if he so much as touched a hair on you head, I will-"

"No, no, no, no! He was perfectly fine! I'm just a bit tired, that's all!" I cut him off.

He let out a sigh of relief, "Good! I didn't want to have to get my hands dirty today!" He teased.

I playfully punched him in the arm, "Hey, I told you he did nothing! Come on, we need to haul ass to class!" I said, pulling him up the stairs.

He chuckled, but quickly obeyed, as we walked up the stairs back to the classroom. 

I couldn't help but steal one last glance at Adrien before entering the classroom. 

He still looked hurt, but let out a sigh and stuffed his hands in his pockets. He then he was talking to his bag and started to blush a lot, which I found to be a bit weird and awkward, so I turned my attention back to going to class.

I wonder what's he's doing though...

As I entered, I was bombarded with people at the door way asking me questions!

"Are you okay?"

"Where the hell were you?"

"*Incoherent mumbling*"

"What were you doing that caused you to miss half of the fucking class? Teach me your ways!"

I took a minute to take in all of what everyone had asked, but eventually started to answer, "Well, I had a panic attack, and I had lost consciousness! Apparently, Adrien had taken me to the Nurse's Office to recover! And well, now here I am!" I briefly explained.

They all just looked at each other in pure awe!

"Wait, Adrien took you to the Nurse's office?" They all said in unison.

I blushed a bit out of embarrassment, but eventually nodded.

They all let out an audible gasp, and some people started to jump up and down.

"Yes! Finally! My ship is happening!" Alya and Rose shouted pumping their fists in the air.

To this comment, I flushed up, and Luka's hand that was around my shoulder, stared to squeeze harder. I winced in pain and took his hand off of my shoulder, and made my way to my desk.

I wonder where Adrien could possibly be...

ADRIEN POV:

My eyes followed Marinette as she made her way up the stairs with Luka, and I couldn't help but envy him! 

He had Marinette wrapped around his finger, and I couldn't do anything about it, because I have made her life a living hell!

I saw them laugh about something as they made their way up the stairs and I realized that I had to get to class.

I sighed an stuffed my hands in my pockets, wanting this day to be over already!

I was about to start walking up to class, when my kwami started to talk to me inside my bag.

"So, you and Pigtails fall asleep together, huh?" he asked in a taunting tone.

I immediately froze in place, and a deep crimson blush found its way onto my face, "W-we didn't fall asleep together! I-I just happened to fall asleep on top of her head while she was asleep!" I defended.

"Uh-huh, or in other words, you fell asleep together!" He taunted.

"Just shut up already, would you? I have to get to class!" I exclaimed, changing the subject.

I smoothed out my clothes and fixed my hair, before bolting up the staircase.

"Looking good for her I see? Slick move, lover-boy!" He teased.

I growled, if he kept this up any longer, I swear to the fucking gods that he would not be receiving any camembert tonight!

I took a few seconds to catch my breath and make my way into the classroom. I was greeted with a bunch of silent stares from my classmates as my teacher gave me a bright smile.

"Marinette just got done telling us about what you did for her! That was a very kind thing that you did, Adrien!" She complimented.

The whole class hummed in agreement, and I looked in the back of the classroom to see Marinette covering her face in embarrassment.

I couldn't help but chuckle at her antics, "Hey, it's what any decent person would've done! But I'm glad I could help, Marinette!" I replied, phrasing that last comment in her direction.

She looked back at me, and gave me a soft smile. I smiled back, and took my seat my Nino.

"M'dude! I didn't know you were such a gentleman! Helping out your girl and stuff!" He stated with a whisper.

"Really! No one was around, and she was about to fall down the fight of fucking stairs! Anyone would've done the same if they were close to her!" I quietly defended.

He nudged my shoulder, and then the teacher cleared her throat, "Are you two done? Or should I wait for you to finish?" She rhetorically asked.

We both quieted down and sat up straight.

She nodded in content and turned back to the board, "Okay class, now if you could all turn to page-"

I Tuned out what she was instructing us to do, and turned my head back to Marinette and saw her with a spaced out gaze on her face, not really paying attention to what was going on in class.

I could tell that we both didn't really want to be here...
