MARINETTE POV:
There was a series of sudden knocks on my door that caused me to jolt awake, "Marinette? Honey, are you awake?" My mom called from outside my door.
"Y-yeah mom!" I tiredly called back with a yawn , "I've been up for hours."
"Okay, well your father and I are gonna get going so that we have time to set up for the Gala, but heat up the soup we left you for lunch! We love you darling!" She called, her voice seeming more distinct as she spoke.
Not long after she finished speaking, I heard our door slam shut, notifying me that they left and the coast was clear.
I drowsily got out of bed and stumbled down the stairs over to my desk, "Tikki..." I murmured, "It's time to get up! We need to get ready for the Gala..."
Her eyes fluttered open, and she stretched, making that obnoxious groan, "What time is it, Marinette?" She wearily questioned.
"I honestly don't know myself," I dryly laughed, "But my parents said that they had lunch on the stove just before they left a few minutes ago, so I'm guessing it's sometime in the late morning?"
She nodded while rubbing her eyes, comprehending what I had just said, "Okay, and where was this Gala located again?"
"It's in Saint-Malo." I replied.
"And what time is the Gala?" She pondered.
"I'd have to check, but I think it's around 6:00?" I answered in an unsure tone.
Tikki's eyes widened in surprise, and she flew out of her bed up to my eye level, "Marinette! If it's around 11:00, you need to start getting ready right this second!" She exclaimed, "It takes about four hours to get to Saint-Malo from Paris! And then on top of that, you have to get ready which can take forever! So get your butt into that bathroom and start getting ready!"
My eyes widened, "Shit! Tikki, start the shower while I got my soup heated up!" I order as I slid downstairs, turning on a burner on the stove.
The soup was still warm, so it didn't take too long to heat up, which in my case worked out great! I poured the soup into a bowl, and ran upstairs, being extra careful to not drop and spill the soup. Because god knows I have done it before!
I started to eat the soup as fast as I humanly could without burning myself. I was about five spoonfuls in when Tikki popped her head out of my bathroom.
"Marinette, your shower's warm!" She shouted over the running water.
I choked on my hot soup, which burned my tongue, "Thit! Tat buns!" I loosely cursed.
I tried to conceal the pain as I bolted to the bathroom and quickly stripped myself of dirty pajamas and grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste to multitask. I hopped in the shower, but I regretted not testing the temperature. I was happily greeted by boiling hot water streaming down my body. I screamed and jumped out of the shower, turning down the temp store to a reasonable degree.
'Tikki! What the fuck, man?" I asked in a shrill tone.
She nervously giggled and plastered a weird smile on her face, "Sorry!" She sheepishly apologized.
I angrily puffed my cheeks at her and treated the temperature this time before I walked into the shower. Luckily, it was bearable, and I was able to shower comfortably and brush my teeth.
Once I was finished, I turned the water off, and toweled myself dry. I put on my bathrobe and sat down at my makeup vanity.
'Tikki! How much time do I have till I need to leave?" I pondered, wondering how I was doing on time.
