Paradise Bound

Chapter 32

As I wait for Isaac to answer I just realized that I haven't even thought that far ahead myself. I mean my whole life is in San Diego. I know things haven't been great since I got divorced but I hadn't ever pictured living anywhere else.

"Tessa..... You know I can't answer that."

"I understand, sorry. I shouldn't have asked that of you."

"No it's just, it would be selfish of me to answer. I know this isn't your home and it was only a temporary job anyway."

"I know that, but can you at least admit to me that we can't just have a friendly work relationship while I'm here....this is always going to happen no matter how hard we try and stop it."

"Yeah.... I have noticed a pattern. So what do you suggest?"

"I suggest, we keep doing what we do best!"

I wink at Isaac causing a loud chuckle to escape his lips.

"I want to explore what this is. Isaac, I have never known a man like you let alone been with one. I feel happy when I'm with you."

"Tessa, you make me happy too, I certainly can't deny that."

"So can we try this again..... Properly? No running away scared after a couple of days, let's just see where this goes."

"Yes Tessa..... Lord knows I couldn't stay away from you even if I tried."

Isaac leans in and presses a small tender kiss on my temple.

"Well that's a relief because I really don't want you to stay away from me."

That night I fall asleep in Isaac's arms and for the first time ever, I'm not worried about what's going to happen in the morning.

The next morning we both wake to Isaac's alarm clock. I'm still laying, tucked securely in his big strong arms. This is a feeling I could get used to.

"Morning Tessa."

I turn around and wrap my arm around his chest.

"Good morning boss."

I see a small smile creep across his face.

"Unfortunately, we have to get up. I'll have to drop you back to your apartment to get ready for work."

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can't go wearing the same dress I wore last night into work. Mia would definitely cop something was up."

"Yes, not much escapes her."

We hop out of bed and get dressed. After a quick breakfast Isaac drops me back to my apartment.

I quickly get changed into one of my work dresses and fix my hair and makeup.

I leave my apartment and head straight to my office. I'm surprised when I see Will standing right outside my office waiting for me.

"Good morning Tessa."

"Will.... You're up and about early?"

"Oh you know what they say, the early bird catches the worm."

"I hope you're not referring to me as a worm?!"

Will chuckles as he leans against my office door.

"Can we talk for a few minutes?"

"Oh..... Yeah sure. Come on in."

I open my office door and we both step inside.

I sit down behind my desk and Will plops himself into the chair infront of me.
