Chapter 21

I slowly turn around in disbelief.

(There's not a chance in hell that it could be Troy....)

When my eyes meet the owners voice I'm in complete and utter shock.

(Yes....that's definitely Troy.... My lying, cheating ass of an ex-husband!)

"Tessa?"

When I finally snap out of my trance I jump up off the sand so fast I almost topple over. Troy reaches his hand out to steady me but I swat it away quickly.

"Troy? What the hell are you doing here?"

He nervously shoves his hands into his pockets. I cross my arms over my body defensively.

"I want to talk to you."

"Are you actually serious right now? You flew all the way out to Hawaii just so you could talk to me?!"

"What can I say.... I like to go that extra mile."

I narrow my eyes at Troy as the anger starts to rise up into my cheeks.

"Quit the bullshit! I'm not in the mood."

"Okay... Look if I had of rang you, would you have answered?"

"Absolutely not!"

"Exactly and I'm guessing if I text or emailed you me, you would have chosen to ignore me too?"

"Yes, and for good reason."

"I know.... Look please can we at least talk? If you want me to go after then I will."

"Fine.... Five minutes..... Not here."

I start off walking towards my apartment as Troy follows close behind me.

(This cannot be happening.... What could possibly be so important that he came all the way out here to tell me?!)

We finally reach my apartment. I open the door and stand back to let Troy in.

"This better be good. Tell me why the hell you are here?"

Troy steps a little closer to me causing me to instinctively step back. He let's out a long sigh before he finally speaks.

"I miss you Tessa."

I feel that familiar aching inside my chest, the very same one when I caught him fucking my sister across his desk. My hands curl into fists as the adrenaline pumps around my body.

"Don't.... I don't want to hear this. It's too little too late. Let me guess my dear sister dumped you?!"

I see a certain sadness in his face, and maybe if he hadn't of hurt me so bad I might almost feel sorry for him.

"No, I broke up with her."

"Right, and why on earth would I care Troy?"

"I'm sorry Tessa, I was an idiot. I shouldn't have given in to her but she was so damn persistent."

"Seriously, don't even try to pull that shit with me. You are as much to blame for this as she is."

"I know but..... It was one drunken night that we first slept together. I told her after that it had to end but she wasn't having any of it. Believe me Tessa, it's the biggest mistake of my life. I wish it had never happened."

"Mistake? So you mistakenly slipped your cock into her? Do you take me for some idiot?! There is no excuse for what you both did!"

"Tessa please.... I'm begging you. I love you so much. I want us to try and work through everything."
