Paradise Bound

Chapter 12

Monday morning 7.00am.

My alarm clock ringing in my ears wakes me from my peaceful sleep. I reach my hand over and switch it off.

I hop out of bed and fix my hair in the mirror. After applying a small bit of makeup I pick out an outfit for work.

I slip into the dress and look at my reflection in the mirror.

It's not too short and shows just the right amount of cleavage..... Not that there's any mystery left. Isaac has seen every inch of my body so he knows exactly what's underneath.

(Christ.... I haven't even seen him this morning and he's already stuck in my damn head!)

I make my way to the kitchen and have a light breakfast. After filling my travel mug full to the brim with black coffee I grab my bag and leave my apartment.

I make my way into the lobby greeting Elaine the receptionist as I walk by. I open my office and slip inside.

I get settled at my desk and start my list of jobs for the day. It's mostly typing and paperwork. After an hour or so I find myself constantly watching the door, secretly hoping that Isaac will come in but he doesn't.

When lunchtime comes I decide to go to the bar and order food, I couldn't be bothered to go back to the apartment to make something.

When I reach the bar, Will is behind the counter, a huge smile crosses his face when he sees me.

"Tessa, hey. How are you?"

"Hi Will. I'm good. I just want to grab some food before I head back to the office."

"No problem, here's the menu."

"Oh it's ok, I'll get the usual chicken salad."

"Great I'll send your order into the chef. Take a seat."

"Thanks Will."

I sit at a table near the back. Will soon arrives over to my table with my food and a jug of iced water.

"Here you are Tessa, enjoy."

"Thank you."

"Hey I......"

Before Will can even finish, I hear his delicious deep voice sending a thrill done my spine...

"Excuse me Will, but I need to speak with Tessa for a moment."

I look up as Will stands aside revealing a very handsome but very serious Isaac.

"Why of course Isaac..... You always seem to arrive at just the right time."

Will shakes his head and walks back to the bar completely dejected.

Isaac turns his attention to me.

"Tessa, I need you to accompany me to a business dinner tonight here in the restaurant."

"Oh.... Yes no problem. What time do you want me here?"

"8.00pm sharp. It's an important meeting with a company who want to hold alot of conferences here in the future, it will mean great business for the hotel if they agree. I need you to take notes where is necessary."

"That's no problem. I'll be here."

"Good. See you then."

I barely have the chance to say goodbye to Isaac before he turns and walks away.

(Well there's no mistaking his intentions today.... purely business. He showed absolutely zero emotion towards me today, so maybe that was it.....definitely a shortlived fling!)
