Chapter 40

I spin around to see Isaac staring at me.

He moves closer until he is only inches away from me.

"You're wrong!"

I match his intense gaze, trying my best to act aloof and unaffected by his presence.

"Excuse me? What exactly am I wrong about?"

"About me not caring if you touch, or kiss, or be with someone else!"

I cross my arms over my chest and cock my eyebrow up at Isaac.

"Fine.... So I'm wrong! It isn't the first thing I was wrong about since I moved here."

I turn away from Isaac.... I'm certainly not going to make this easy for him.

As I start to walk away he comes up beside me and gently grabs my arm.

"Tessa? Can we talk?"

I narrow my eyes at Isaac as I stare back at him. It's so hard to remain strong and focused when all I want to do is kiss him....so badly!

"Well that depends Isaac...."

"On what?"

"On whether or not you are going to tell me the real reason why you broke up with me?"

The atmosphere between us is charged as we both glare at each other.

"I..... It was for you.... I had your best interests at heart."

"Bullshit and you know it.....you're taking the cowards way out..... Tell me right now Isaac or I swear to god I'll never forgive you! You will lose me forever!"

Isaac is just about to speak when we are interrupted.

"There you guys are.... Mia wants us all inside. She wants to make a toast. I hope I wasn't interrupting anything?"

I pull my eyes away from Isaac and look at Michelle.

"No.... Nothing important anyway!"

I storm off back into the bar leaving Isaac with Michelle.

I can feel the tears bubbling up to the surface but I stop them, remembering this is Mia and Rob's night and I'm certainly not going to ruin that for them.

As I rush back into the bar I bump straight into Will nearly knocking the both of us over in the process.

"Woah......"

"Shit, sorry."

"You know if you wanted to touch me that badly you could have just said."

I look down and realize the palm of my hands are placed firmly on his rock hard chest.

I quickly pull them away a little embarrassed.

"Sorry Will, I wasn't looking where I was going....."

"Yes that much I can see.... What or should I say who were you trying to get away from?!"

Before I have a chance to answer, Isaac and Michelle walk past us back into the bar. Isaac's eyes boring a hole through me as he observes me with Will.

"No need to answer.... I get it. Any chance he's come to he senses yet and confessed his undying love for you?"

I roll my eyes and shake my head at Will.

"Don't be ridiculous.... This is Isaac we're talking about!"

Will chuckles.

"Yeah I guess you're right. Well if he doesn't wise up fairly fast someone else will definitely scoop you up...."
