After Isaac left my apartment I rang John from the hotel to tell him that I had to turn down the job in San Diego, that something had come up.
I still have the dreaded phone call with Kayla.... I'm terrified of how she's going to take the news. I know she'll be happy for me but I also think she will be disappointed that I'm not coming back, either way I'll have to ring her later, the last thing I want is for her to hear it from someone else.
If I'm being honest I'm not sure how I feel about that either. I know I have made a very good friend in Mia and even Will but Kayla has been by my side through all the crap with Troy and I hate the thought of us not being in each others lives like before.
I push all those thoughts out of my head for the moment. I have to focus on today.... Dinner with Isaac's family. It will be the first one ever where we are officially together.
I loosely curl my hair and put my make up on.
I pick out one of my nice dresses and slip it on in front of the mirror.
As I make my way back out to the kitchen the doorbell rings.
(There is Isaac now with his impeccable timing as always.)
I hurry to the door to see Isaac staring back at me.... There is only one word I can use to describe him right now and that's delicious.
"You look breathtaking."
"Mmm, and you look mouth-watering!"
Isaac smirks..... The smirk that always seems to send a throbbing between my thighs.
"You know if I hadn't already promised everyone we were coming I'd be pushing you back in that apartment and tearing that pretty dress off you!"
"Easy boss..... This dress is far too expensive for you to be tearing!"
"I'll buy you another one."
I giggle as I push Isaac playfully away from my apartment door.
As I turn around to lock my door I feel the firm pressure of his fingers swirling around my lower back and slowly he moves around to my abdomen causing me to take a sharp breath in.
The throbbing between my thighs is now so insistent I'm about to jump on him right here and now.
He suddenly pulls back and clears his throat.
"We better get going."
I turn to face him and wink.
"Oh don't worry, I'm coming."
I see his jaw clench as I step in front of him and make my way to his car.
I'm guessing he wants me as much as I want him, afterall we have a lot of time to make up for.
The drive to his parents house is spent in comfortable silence. I'm starting to feel a little nervous at telling everyone but hopefully they will all be supportive about it.
We finally pull into the driveway.
"So.. Are you ready?"
"I think so.....are you ready?"
"Definitely."
We hop out of the car and head into the house.
When we step inside we can hear the loud voices coming from the living room.
As we walk into the living room everyone seems to be here except Isaac's mother. They all turn their attention to us, my heart is hammering in my chest when suddenly I feel Isaac's hand cover mine as our fingers interlock.
I instinctively look at him as he smiles back at me.
"Oh.... My..... God! Does this mean what I think it does? Did my big brother actually grow a pair of balls and tell Tessa how he really feels?"
I hold back a chuckle as I hear Isaac sigh loudly beside me.
"Tessa and I are together, yes."
"Well thank fuck for that. Isaac you better not mess her around again. Because next time.... I might not be such a gentleman."
Will winks at me causing me to smile in return.
"Well son, I'm happy for you both."
"Thank you dad. Where's mom?"
"Oh, I'm afraid she had a fairly bad night and morning so she's actually resting in bed until dinner is ready."
"Ah I see."
"Hold up, Tessa? Does this mean you're staying in Honolulu?"
"Yeah... It sure does. You're going to be stuck with me."
"Awh this is the best news ever. I'm so so happy for you both!"
"Thanks Mia."
Isaac's phone starts ringing and he pulls it out of his pocket.
"I better take this. I'll be back in a minute."
I nod and make my way over to sit beside Mia as Isaac leaves the room..
When Isaac finally comes back into the room we are all in deep conversation.
"Tessa? Could I have a quick word with you?"
"Oh yeah, sure."
I follow Isaac into a small office room.
"Is everything okay?"
"I think so.... That was Jeanatte on the phone. My previous assistant hotel manager."
"Oh?"
"Well as you know she is off on maternity leave for another month but she has just asked if it was possible that she only returns part time as she doesn't want to be away from her baby 5-6 days in the week. She wants to work 3 days instead."
"Oh I see."
"So that means I have a part time position left to fill if you would be interested in staying on?"
My eyes widen in surprise.
"Really?"
"Yes, I know it's not exactly what you want but it's a start. If you'd like to look somewhere else for work, that's no problem."
"No, god no. I love my job there. I would be delighted to stay on.... And who knows maybe I can get a few shifts behind the bar. I'm sure Will could train me in."
Isaac moves closer to me and narrows his eyes at me.
"Absolutely no way.... If you're going to be trained in behind the bar it certainly won't be by my brother."
I run my hands up Isaac's firm chest as I stare into his piercing blue eyes.
"Awh what's wrong..... You're not jealous of Will now are you?"
"I just know what he's like."
"Yes and so do I. But I also know how unbelievable he has been through our differences. He never tried it on with me when he knew you liked me. I really think you should give him more credit. He thinks alot of you and he has proven himself to be very trustworthy."
"Very well. I trust you anyway and that's all that matters."
"Exactly. Believe me I had plenty of opportunities to go there but I never did. You were always stuck in my head."
"Well I'm glad to hear it."
Mias voice interrupts us.
"Okay lovebirds, save it for later. Dinner is almost ready."
We follow Mia into the house, hand in hand. We are just heading in to the kitchen when the doorbell rings.
"You guys go ahead, I'll get that."
We take our seats and a few moments later Mia comes in followed by Gina and..... Diane.
(What in the actual fuck is she doing here?)
