The drive to my apartment felt like it took hours. I'm just itching to get my hands on the calender.
When Isaac finally pulls up at the back of the hotel I almost jump from the car.
"Someone's in a hurry?"
"Sorry.... I guess I'm excited to get going."
"Well I'm happy to hear it. I actually have some paperwork I have to grab in the office so if you want to make a start on the packing and I'll be back in a couple of minutes to help."
"That's perfect."
Isaac walks off in the direction of the hotel while I practically sprint through the door of my apartment and head straight for the calender hanging up on the fridge in the kitchen.
I quickly run through the days last month looking for the little marker that I always put when I get my period and when the next one is due.
(Fuck..... Please say I didn't forget to mark it. The last two months I didn't mark it down.... I know things were rough and I wasn't exactly coping great with Isaac's absence but this isn't like me. In all the years I have been getting my period I always mark it down.)
The last one that's marked down is over two months ago. I'm trying to think hard as to when the last period I had was. Surely I couldn't have been that preoccupied with work and Isaac to have not noticed missing my period. The more and more I think about it the more confused I get. I can't actually remember....
(Shit.... This can't be happening. Maybe I'm just late because I'm so stressed.)
I quickly make my way to my bedroom and start packing a couple of bags of clothes and toiletries.
My mind is racing right now as I aimlessly grab the contents of my wardrobe and fling it in the bag.
(What if I am pregnant? I can't even think of that outcome right now. I'm finally getting everything I ever wanted and I'm afraid that this is going to throw everything off balance yet again.)
I'm in another world when Isaac's voice calls out.
"Hey Tessa, how are you getting on in here?"
I turn to see Isaac leaning against the doorframe as he smiles at me warmly.
"Good. I have alot packed. I guess we can get the rest of the stuff over the next day or so."
"Yeah we'll grab some more after work tomorrow."
Isaac grabs a couple of bags off the floor and I get the last few. We leave the apartment locking it behind us and we fill Isaac's car with the bags.
We hop into the car and leave the car park.
I take my phone out of my bag.... There's only one person I can talk to about this who won't freak out or judge me. Normally Kayla would be around for support but unfortunately not now.
I start to type a quick text.
"Hi Mia, is there any chance you can meet me at lunchtime tomorrow? There's something I need to talk to you about."
Isaac's voice interrupts me.
"Is everything okay Tessa?"
"Oh.... Yeah, I was just organising to meet Mia tomorrow for lunch....you know for a bit of wedding talk."
"Ah yes, of course. It won't be long coming around now."
My phone beeps. I quickly open her message.
"Yep that's no problem, I'll see you at your apartment at 1pm. :-)"
