Paradise Bound

Chapter 15

We all make our way out to the kitchen where Rob is placing the food on the table.

Mia not so subtly places me right beside Justin and unfortunately for me, Isaac is directly across from me where Michelle is practically sitting on his knee.

"Mia, is Will not coming?" Isaac asks.

Mia clicks her tongue and shakes her head.

"No the dirt bag ditched us for some leggy blonde, he said he might make it later but I doubt it."

"What's new?!"

Rob and Mia join us at the table.

"Right guys, dig in. I hope you all enjoy it." Rob says with a smile.

"Everything looks great."

We all get started on our food and oh good lord it's so delicious.

I find it very hard to not glance over at Isaac every now and then as he chats with Michelle.

I can't blame her for flirting with him, the man oozes charm and charisma. I'm pretty sure any woman would love the chance to be near him.

I'm pulled from my thoughts when Justin turns to me and addresses me.

"So Tessa, how are you liking life here in Honolulu? Mia was saying you are from San Diego originally?"

I turn to face Justin, who if I'm being honest is a very good looking man and maybe if I had not already felt what it was like to be kissed and touched by Isaac, I might have been interested in him.

"It's beautiful here, much more peaceful than I'm used to."

"Yeah it definitely has it's good points. So are you here for the foreseeable future or do you think you'll eventually head back to San Diego?"

"Well it was really just for the 6 months, I mean that's all I have the job for so I guess my plan is to go back to San Diego."

"Awh that's a pity.... I guess that means you'll have to make the most of those 6 months."

Justin smiles at me and gives me a little wink. I can't say I'm completely unaffected by his attention. It feels good to be wanted, even if I'd much rather it be by someone else.

"Oh don't worry, I fully intend to."

I throw Justin a cheeky wink and a grin as he smiles back at me. I turn my head back around and I glance across the table at Isaac who is literally glaring at me... I swear it's like daggers flying out of his eyeballs.

The rest of the dinner goes by fine. I mostly chat with Justin as Michelle gets cosy beside Isaac.

We are all sitting in the living room having another drink.

"Tessa, I'm going to get going in a few minutes if you want the lift back?"

I look over to Isaac, before I get a chance to  respond Mia interrupts.

"Already? God you're no fun Isaac! Tessa if you want you could stay the night in the guestroom?"

"Well some of us have an early start, we can't all just wander into work at lunchtime."

Mia rolls her eyes at her brother before looking in my direction.

"So what do you say Tessa?"

"Oh... Em. I think I should probably head home too. I don't have my work clothes or anything for the morning."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, another time. Maybe when I don't have to be worrying about getting up early."

"Okay then. Well thanks so much for coming."
