Chapter 48

I let out a loud shriek when I register who is standing in front of me.

I make a run for the reception desk.

"Tessa...."

"Oh my God....Kayla!"

I practically pounce on my best friend who I haven't seen in months. I'm completely overwhelmed that she's actually here.

"Woah....East tiger!"

"Oh my God you're really here.... I can't believe it."

"I wanted to surprise you which clearly I achieved my goal."

I'm bouncing with excitement to see Kayla standing here in front of me in the flesh.

"Oh Kayla, you have just made my day. I can't actually believe this is really happening."

"Well believe it baby.... I'm here. Unfortunately only for two nights but it was better than not coming at all."

"Definitely!"

"I'm guessing you have to work?"

"Oh.... Hold that thought. Come with me."

I grab Kayla's hand and drag her towards Isaac's office. I knock firmly on the door and a couple of moments later I hear Isaac call out.

"Come in."

I swing the door open. My face is beaming with happiness. Isaac looks up from my desk when he hears me approaching. His eyes move from me to Kayla who is standing alongside me.

"Isaac, this is my best friend Kayla from San Diego, she came all the way here for a surprise visit."

Isaac moves out of his chair and comes around to the front of the desk beside us. He reaches his hand out to shake Kayla's.

"Kayla, welcome to honolulu and its very nice to meet you. Tessa has talked about you non-stop since she arrived."

"Ah.... Isaac.... The boss. So you're the reason my best friend ditched me to stay here?"

I see Isaac's expression turn serious and a little panicked before Kayla bursts out laughing.

"Relax, I'm just kidding..... I can totally understand why she did."

Isaac smiles as a small stain creeps into his cheeks.

"Okay Kayla that's enough ogling my man."

Kayla chuckles.

"Isaac I was hoping maybe I could take a couple of hours off, you know so I can spend some time with Kayla and catch up."

"Of course, take the day. I'm sure you have plenty to chat about."

"That we do."

"Thanks boss. I'll make it up to you."

I lean in close to Isaac and whisper in his ear.

"In bed later...."

He let's out a low growl as I lightly nibble his ear lobe just before I move back from him.

"Okay guys.... Save it for when you're on your own please."

I smile at Isaac as Kayla and I leave his office.

"Okay.... Where do you want to go?"

"Beach.....then the bar!"

(I'll have to drop the pregnancy bomb on her before we hit the bar.)

We both slip off our shoes as we step onto the golden sand.

"So.... Things are all good with you and your hot boss.... Who by the way is a total stud!"
