Chapter 51

My eyes focus on the beach in front of me.

"Are you planning another picnic?"

"I had bigger plans than a picnic last night but I wouldn't want you to damage your ankle further!"

Isaac winks at me as he brings me over to the blanket.

He sees me eyeing the bottle of champagne.

"Don't worry..... It's nonalcohlic."

We sit down on the blanket.

"Hey Isaac, can I ask you something?"

"Anything Tessa."

"Last night, after Diane left your office, we went outside. When Will found me he went straight to your office to get you but you weren't there.... Where did you go?"

"I came out to the lobby and saw that you were gone so I assumed you had gone into the main room. I asked Mia where you where but she didn't know. By the time I had gotten outside you weren't there, Will must have already drove away at that stage."

"Oh.... What about your phone? I couldn't get through to you?"

"My phone was off since the wedding. Will rang the reception and that's how I found out what had happened. I'm so sorry Tessa. I never should have left your side and I can assure you it will never ever happen again."

"It's okay. I just don't know what I would have done if anything had of happened our baby."

"Well I certainly would never have forgiven myself if anything had of happened. I have been thinking alot about what Diane said and I don't want any part in her sordid plans. Quite frankly that baby is better off with his new family than with her."

"But what about you? I mean are you going to be happy not knowing?"

"It's for the best. I can't tear him away from what he knows to be his parents, it wouldn't be right. If when he's old enough he comes looking for me, I will have no problem explaining to him what his mother done."

"I just want you to be sure of your decision, because I hope you know I would support you no matter what."

"I know that Tessa, that's why I love you so much. I'm certain on my decision. My future is you and our little baby.... And the babies that may come after."

I smile at Isaac as he looks at me lovingly.

"That's why I brought you here. I wanted to tell you how much I love you and how I want to spend the rest of my life loving you if you'll let me."

Isaac hands me a big shell and I look at him in confusion.

"You're giving me a shell?"

Isaac smiles widely.

"Open it."

"I slowly open the shell and let out a loud gasp."

"Is this? I mean are you....."

"Tessa Simmons, will you do me the greatest honour in agreeing to become my wife? I couldn't imagine building a life with anyone else, you are the best thing to ever happen to me."

I look at the ring and then to Isaac. I'm speechless.... I can't believe this is really happening.

After moments of just staring at the ring Isaac's voice pulls my eyes up to his.

"Tessa? I understand if after everything you'd rather wait...."

"What? No.... I mean.... Yes boss.... I'll marry you."

I throw my arms around Isaac's neck, squeezing him tightly.

As I move back Isaac takes my hand in his and slips on the beautiful ring.
