Paradise Bound

Chapter 28

We spent quite a while at the waterfall, enjoying our peaceful surroundings. We made the small trek back to the car and Isaac dropped me back to my apartment.

I was disappointed when he was going but then he surprised me by asking me out for dinner tonight, and what's better still is it's in some fancy restaurant.

I have a quick shower to wash all of the sweat and dust from my body after our trek. Luckily I have two fancy evening dresses with me so I'll pick one of them.

I do my hair and makeup before finally settling on a dress to wear. I stand in front of the mirror as I slip the dress onto my body.

(Yep..... I definitely think this is the one. I have always wanted to wear it but never had anywhere fancy to wear it to.)

I make my way out to the living room just as the doorbell rings.

(Okay.... Here goes. My first official date with Isaac.)

I go to the door and open it up to find a very handsome Isaac staring back at me. I feel his eyes skim every curve of my body as he takes me all in and I suddenly feel very nervous.

"Tessa, you look absolutely stunning."

I feel myself blush a little as I smile back at Isaac with a new feeling of shyness that washes over me.

"Thank you Isaac, you look very handsome yourself."

"Shall we go?"

"Yes, definitely."

I lock my apartment and we make our way to Isaac's car. After a short drive we pull up outside a truly magical restaurant, I can only imagine how nice it is inside if the outside is anything to go by.

The waiter shows us to our table and I can't help but let out a little gasp when I see the view.

"Wow Isaac.....it's magnificent."

"I'm glad you like it. It's beautiful, that's for sure."

After we sit down and order our food, Isaac starts the conversation off.

"So Tessa, have you thought anymore about the manager position in San Diego?"

My eyes widen, a little taken aback by his question.

"Oh.... No I haven't, but I had kind of already decided I wasn't going to take it."

"Oh? Why not?"

"Well because I don't trust my ex-husband, I mean there's no way he's just going to hand it over and expect nothing in return. I'm sure I can find something else."

"I'm sure you will too. I will be sure to give you a glowing reference anyway."

(What the fuck? Is he actually already planning my departure? That's just put an immediate downer on this dinner!)

I can't bring myself to respond I just nod and smile.

The waiter arrives with our starter and we begin to eat in silence.

I can't stand the silence so I try to lighten the mood a little.

"So, what other hobbies do you have apart from walking and eating?"

Isaac looks up from his plate and smiles amusingly.

"I think you already know my other hobby?"

Isaac winks and I immediately feel a throbbing between my thighs, knowing full well what he is referring to.

"Mmm, I think I'll have to add that to mine too."

"What about you Tessa? What pastimes did you enjoy before you gave them all up to come and work for me?
