Nine woke up with a startle. She shot up, her scratchy white sheet falling from her body. Nines eyes darted around the small room.

The door opened and Papa walked through. Nine shook her head backing up as far as her twin bed would allow her. Papa rose his hand trying to calm the young girl.

"Dont be afraid Nine, I'm not angry." He said slowly sitting down at the end of her bed. Nine hugged her knees to her chest careful of the hospital gown covering her.

"A-angry?" She mumbled. Papa shook his head hearing her voice. She didn't speak often. Her grammer was of a toddler, they didn't teach at the lab. Only trained, trained to kill.

"I have someone I would like you to meet Nine." He stood up buttoning his suit jacket. He held out his hand to the girl. She was no older then 11 having been there for six years already. Nine looked from his hand to his eyes.

Once she saw him nod once more did she grab on his hand. He pulled her up to his side leading her out. The two walked side by side. The puppet and the master. She was nothing but a puppet to him, and a powerful one at that. He needed to see how Eleven would react to another. One of equal power. The girl was young but showed great potential. Nine had the potential and wasn't afraid to use it.

Papa lead them down the series of hallways. People in their lab coats stopped to stare at the girl. They all heard what she did. The people she killed with just a quarter, she became feared.

Papa pushed open a security door to the rainbow room. The kids that were there stopped as well. But one didn't. One stayed with their head down. Nine cowered behind Papa feeling all the eyes of the other kids on her.

Papa called over the boy with blonde hair, he walked up putting his hands behind his back.

"Yes Papa?" He asked glancing down at Nine and giving her a smirk. The girl looked back down.

"Take the others away but leave Eleven. I need to introduce Nine to our newest." The guard smiled nodding.

"Of course." He walked to the side ushering the kids away, he glanced once more at Nine. He turned and walked away the other kids following behind him. Papa pulled Nine forward kneeling down beside the one that was left.

"Eleven?" He asked the girl. Nine watched her hand falling from Papas. The girl was young, maybe 7 or 8. She shyly looked up looking right at Papa.

"I have someone I would like you to meet." He pointed over to Nine. Nine bowed her head afraid of the looks the new girl would give her. Eleven followed his finger looking blankly at the girl. She didn't look with fear, or jealously. Eleven stood up walking over to Nine. She stood quite shorter then Nine but she held strong. Nine looked down almost smiling. Papa rose his hand to his mouth rubbing his stubble.

"E-Eleven." She pointed to herself. Nine was surprised at the greeting and looked to Papa for assurance. He nodded.

"Nine." She said shortly making the younger girl smile.

"Perfect." Papa whispered watching the two girls smile at each other.

"Now focus Nine, put all energy into this." Papa encouraged, all the other kids standing against the wall. The ring of lights ahead of Nine.

The girl nodded still scared of what she might do. The blonde guard walked up putting the sensors on her head offering the girl a smile.

"Show them your power." His face became stiff as he spoke, Nine nodded and he stopped away.

She sighed out, claiming her breathing best she could. Her eyes locked onto the ring of lights. She just needed to turn it on. Her head lowered and her nose began to bleed.

As she pushed more and more force on the light it shattered. A guard went to step forward and end it but both the guard and Papa stopped him. Nine gritted her teeth pushing more, and more.

The ring of light cracked, and bent. The scratching of metal echoing throughout the room. She began to squeeze each screw of the lights. Light after light began to break. Glass falling to the ground but she didn't break away. She needed to show them.

Nine clutched her chair the metal ring of lights caving in. Papa watched at the metal in the room started to shake and cave in on themselves. Nine started to shake from her use of power.

She pushed it more launching the ring into the air and across the room, her attachment to the other objects following without her knowing. Guns, badges, equipment all soaring through the air and crashing into the tile wall.

Nine broke away her body hunching over. Papa raced over laying her onto the ground. All the other kids were staring at the girl, whispering to each other.

"Papa." Nine said weakly, blood running from her nose. Papa cupped her face in his hands his grin ear to ear.

"You did it, you did it Nine."
