Chocolate, chips, and soda sat in the passenger seat of her car. She had pulled into a gas station to get the snacks she knew would help the night. She got Steve's favorite as well as her own. Before she got home she stopped at the movie store picking up three movies for him to pick through.

She had the radio off and just let the silence sit in the car. She wasn't worried about Steve, she was just trying to keep an open mind. She didn't she she'd ever see Steve cry. The only reason she could think of involving Nancy meant something was said.

She saw Steve's car already pulled in her driveway. The living room light turned on.

She pulled in beside Steve's car running over to grab her bags, and take them up to the house. She walked in seeing Steve sitting on the couch staring out the window behind it. He glanced over at her, standing up to follow her to the kitchen. She set her bags on the island. She grabbed two cups and a bowl. He opened the bag seeing the aray of snacks she got.

She got for them.

She got for him.

She set a cup infront of him taking out the bottle of Pepsi for him and a Sprite for her. She filled his cup, as well as hers before placing the bottles in the fridge. It was silent. But it was comfortable.

"Why are you doing this?" He finally voiced, seeing her begin to pour the candy into the large bowl.

"Because you're upset." She grabbed the plastic bag putting it in the trash can. He cracked a smile at her, sighing out. He rested his hands on the counter, his head falling. Rose slowly walked back over standing beside him. She couldn't see his face.

"You don't have to talk about it. Its none of my buisness. But...but seeing you like that. I couldn't let you sit alone in your big house hiding in your room." She saw his shoulders shake, she couldn't tell if it was from him crying or laughing. She didn't dwell on it because she reached into the other bag, grabbing the movies.

"Star Wars, Ghostbusters, or The Shining?" He picked up his head, wiping his nose.

Crying.

It was from crying.

"The Shining, its Halloween right?" He tried to crack a smile. She nodded grabbing the VHS and the bowl of candy. She realized she forgot her drink but Steve carried it over for her setting it on the coffee table with the snacks.

Rose knelt in front of the TV popping open the tape and sliding it in. The screen was grey and fuzzy before going black, and began to play. She stood up turning up the volume and going to sit beside Steve on the couch.

She brought her legs up, sitting criss crossed. She fidgety before she reached grabbing a Reeces Peices. She tore the wrapper taking a bite, as the movie opened to the car driving on the mountain to the hotel.
