IN WHICH...
"You don't love him Nancy! You know that as much as I do! He's hurting, let him go. Just admit that you're in love with Johnathan and let Steve go." Rose doesn't know why she's fighting so hard for this. Nancy huffs out a breath of air...

Rose squinted down the street. The trees whistled through the wind. Cars whizzed by beside her on the road. Her hands were stuffed into her pockets, her sunglasses folded on the front of her shirt.
Her shoes kicked rocks at her feet and she casted her eyes down.
"Hey freak!"
"Fuck me." Rose muttered slowing down and watching the car roll up beside her. Harrington driving, avoiding contact with the girl. Tommy and Carol in the backseat with the window down.
"Yeah dipshits?" She smiled fakely.
"Just wanted to see how you're holding up red." Rose rolled her eyes her head rolling dramatically. She hated the nickname, Steve came up with it and Tommy just kept up. She would rather be called Psycho.
"I mean, with freak boys brother dead and all. I'm surprised you got the police to believe you even. What was it like killing him? Did he scream?"
"Enough! God, just shut up so we can go please." Steve surprised her. He's normally the quiet one, doesn't stop it, but he never joins in.
"Yeah listen to King Steve over here." She pointed at him her jacket moving with her. Carol scoffed popping the gum in her mouth.
"Lets go, Psycho probably is looking for her next victim." Rose thought about saying it. She knew she shouldn't use it. But she wanted to see the look on his face.
"I'm actually meeting up with your girlfriend Harrington - her and Byers." She smirked before turning and walking away. It was a low blow, but who gives a shit? Steve's face fell immediately and Carol and Tommy started to whisper and snicker in the back.
"Princess is hanging with freakshow. That's no good Stevie." Tommy reached through he middle of the car ruffling Steve's hair. Steve swatted his hand away, clenching his jaw. His eyes were trained on Roses retreating figure.
He got the car back in drive, and sped off his eyes not leaving the road as his mind spun with possibilities.

"Hey losers." Rose stepped over a branch, leaves crunching on her feet. She could feel the tension from where she stood. Nancy's face said it all. She rose her eyebrows toward Jonathan who looked away.
"Ok, so let's get going." She gestured them forward. The pair stayed feet apart giving the other a cold shoulder. She smirked to herself, biting her lip to contain it. She walked behind them accepting the bat Jonathan passed her.
"For protection." He said when she gave him a side eye. She laughed shoving it back into his chest.
"Thanks but no thanks Byers. I can protect myself." She patted his arm then walked ahead of him.
