IN WHICH...
"You don't love him Nancy! You know that as much as I do! He's hurting, let him go. Just admit that you're in love with Johnathan and let Steve go." Rose doesn't know why she's fighting so hard for this. Nancy huffs out a breath of air...

The pair sat in a comfortable silence. Rose was glancing out the window, her hands playing with each other in her lap. Steve would occasionally glance at the girl then pull his eyes away.
"So," Rose started pulling her eyes away from the window looking at the boys side profile. "Any colleges you're thinking about going to?" She started the small talk, wanting to break the silence somehow.
"I dont know, I'm starting my applications, and Nancy is helping with the essays. I'm not keeping my hopes up though." His tone goes low, disappointment floods from his lips. Rose furrows her brow.
"What do you mean?" Steve looks from the road to her for a second before looking back. He licks his lips rubbing one hand down his hair.
"I just mean-I never took school seriously, my grades are crap, half the teachers just see me as a party boy, and my dad, well, he's not exactly happy with me." Rose purses her lips looking straight toward the road before them.
"I wouldn't lose all hope, you are smart Steve. Don't belittle yourself just because of what others think, and your dad, he shouldn't be able to dictate your life like this."
Over the past year Rose and Steve have only gotten closer. He opened up a few times about the problems he's had with his dad over the years. How his dad wants him to forget college and go right into the family buisness. Steve always says that it's not for him, he wants more in his life then what his dad has.
Steve nods, even if he may still have his doubts about Roses words.
"Thanks." He shoots her a small smile then turns the wheel onto her road. Even from the other end of the street she can see Jean left the lights on for her. Rose begins to shuffle in her seat ready to get out.
Steve pulls into her driveway, the car rocking as they went over the bumps. Steve unlocks the doors letting the girl out.
"Hey." He says softly. She pauses leaning down back into the car. "Have a goodnight Red." She rolls her eyes shutting the door.
Steve looks down at the wheel beginning to pull out. He looks back up expecting to see the girl at the door walking inside, but she's right where she stood after shutting the door.
Not moving.
Steve goes back into the driveway, staring at the girl. Once he can see her through the window, that's when he gets out of the car. He leaves the door open, walking in front of the girl. Her eyes are glossy, and her nose is leaking blood. Small whispers escape her mouth, but he can't make anything out.
Rose had gotten out of the car, then felt the chills run up her spine. She looked up only to be met with a red sky. She braced herself, clenching her jaw as she took in her surroundings. The trees were dead, and grey. No leaves on the ground or on their branches.
Roses eyes scanned up and down the street being sure no Demogoragn was sneaking up on her. When she looked straight ahead, she felt all her air be knocked out of her.
