Headcanon: Types of Pet Names

Genre: Fluff

Warnings: Please look at the disclosure in the author's note.

Word Count: 1809

Author's Note: I'm going to start with a little disclaimer for you guys. I did use Korean words for some of the members. Please keep in mind that I typed out everything used in Hangul, romanization, and English. I'm also aware this may be controversial but I did use one Korean name Chenle would use to call his GF. I know Chenle is Chinese, but I wrote this with the idea that their verbal interactions are generally in Korean. It's similar to how Renjun and Chenle speak Korean with each other, even though they're Chinese. I understand if you are still uncomfortable, and you don't have to continue reading this if you don't want to.

Aside from that, some of these do sound repetitive. But I still tried to make it different for all the members. I hope you enjoy this headcanon. Thank you for reading ^-^

MARK

Since he is from Canada, Mark would use English if he called you something. He doesn't seem like the type of person who is big on pet names. So he'd just go with the classic one, "babe" for you. "Babe, you have to see this!" "I missed you so much Babe," or "Babe, am I doing this right?" It just felt natural to him.

Since he called you that, you started calling him "baby." For one thing, you were sure that his members would agree that Mark could act like a child sometimes. But just like for Mark, "baby" just made sense to you. You didn't even use it to tease him.

"Baby, let's take a break and go eat," you'd say whenever you caught him stressed about work. Mark appreciated you doing this, and he had told you at least once during your late-night conversations.

Sometimes you guys used the Korean term "애기야" (aegi) for each other. Moreso it was you who said it because Mark tended to drift into English more often. Either one worked for the two of you. People might argue against this, but you were perfectly fine using basic couple names. Haechan might call you guys boring sometimes, but neither of you cared.

RENJUN

Being in a relationship with Renjun could be so pleasant at times. More than you thought you deserved, he would be so sweet. He was always looking after your well-being and simultaneously making your heart flutter. So for Renjun, he would often call you his "sweetheart." He'd use this especially if you weren't feeling your best. To top that, he would say it with the utmost adoration pouring from his eyes.

"It's okay Sweetheart. I'm always here for you."

On the other hand, Renjun beamed every time you referred to him as "darling." That was the name you used the most and he just found it so endearing. You just felt it was fitting for someone like your boyfriend. In more casual settings, you would sometimes call him a "할머니" (halmeoni - grandma). You often used this to lighten the mood when he was scolding you about your health or asked if you had eaten that day.

"Okay, Halmeoni," and "Yes, Halmeoni" you'd say with a small smile.

Of course, Renjun would react kind of sulkily when you literally called him a grandma. He'd be like, "Ugh, can I not remind my girlfriend to take care of herself?" But he never took it too seriously. You rarely teased him in the first place, so he could handle this. However, he preferred the latter name you used for him. The boy would happily kiss you whenever you did.
