Prologue

~Alex's POV~

I quickly hug Light and accidentally lift him off the ground slightly, "I missed you so much!"

"But, we just got here," He responds, hugging me back as tightly as he can.

"And? I still missed you."

I feel Light smile, "I missed you, too."

"Well, who are you and what's your talent?" Zach interrupts.

Light pulls away from me. I try to guess his talent quickly, but everything's blank. I don't remember anything really-... Wait, I don't remember anything-

Light clears his throat, which brings me back, "Well since you've asked, I, Light, am The Ultimate Skateboarder!"

"Why?" Zach asks.

"You're nosey," Light comments, dropping his board to the ground and resting a foot on it.

Zach raises an eyebrow. "'Xcuse you?"

I nervously laugh. I interrupt with the suggestion to split up and see if there's anyone else around. Everyone agrees, except Jaxx and Zach. Jaxx doesn't give a clear answer and Zach declines. His brother convinces him to stick to the concept if they team up again. With that, I'm paired with Levi and Jade again. 

We go down a different road this time. On this road are the police station, the hospital, the fire station, and other buildings that refer to helping citizens. We decided to go to the police station since it's the closest building to us. Levi approaches the door and tries to open it. It doesn't budge. Jade and I follow up behind and keep a distance as he rams his shoulder into the door.

"Watch it, Levi." Jade cracks her knuckles as she walks up to the door.

Levi drops his grip on the knob and moves to the side. Akin to earlier, Jade lifts her foot and kicks the door harshly. It doesn't budge. Once she realizes it isn't working, she presses her knee against the door and copies what Levi has tried.

I interrupt before she does any damage to herself, "Hey, Jade. I don't think it's going to open."

A groan comes from Jade as she slams her fists against the door, "Ugh! Damn door."

"You guys wanna try the hospital?" Levi asks, turning away and starting to walk.

I nod and look at Jade. Jade starts following Levi. Then I follow behind. The whole time we were making our way, I felt as if there were a pair of eyes on us constantly. Every time I turn my head and stare into the bare trees, I don't see anything. Or I'm missing it constantly.

"Alex," Levi's staring at me with concern. "Are you okay? You seem on edge."

I glance around once more before nodding. "Yeah. I'm fine. I just..."

"What?" Jade's expression shifts to concern. "Is something wrong?"

"I just feel like someone's watching us," I answer, my thumb runs over my knuckles.

Levi makes an 'oh' sound. "You've been feeling that too?"

"Wait, you both have?!" Jade exclaims.
