Chapter 2: Secrets Can Kill...

FREE TIME!

~Alex's POV~

No specific place came to mind immediately, so I wandered the school buildings. I can go check out those talent rooms that Skye had mentioned earlier. Even though no one's watching, I shrug and head toward the steps. 

I skip a few as I climb up and wander the second floor. After some time, I finally stumbled upon my goal. Down a corridor are various doors decorated with different symbols, colors, and objects to signify which doors are ours. However, I'm not alone in this hall. 

Sora's standing and inspecting a door in front of him with a microphone at the top and a cord coming from the bottom of it, wrapping around two drama masks and scripts were painted flying around in the background of the door's decoration.

I approach him with a wave. "Hey, Sora!"

Sora breaks his focus from the door and over to me. "Hey, Fashionista! Whatcha doing over here?"

"I decided to do a bit of exploring since I don't have anything else to do," I respond with a nervous chuckle. Sora nods his head in response and glances back at the door. I catch this pretty quickly. "Did you see what was inside?"

He shakes his head. "Nah, it's locked. I've tried most of the doors already and the only ones that are unlocked are... The dead ones' doors."

I know exactly who he's referring to. Then, I realized what he had said, "Wait, most of the doors? I've only seen this one and those two behind me."

"This entire floor's covered in them!" Sora exclaims with stars in his eyes. "They're spread out. I'm guessing some rooms are bigger than others. You know the rockstar guy? I think his room may have a stage or something, so it'd be bigger than the influencer girl."

"Do you not know their names or?" I ask with a slight laugh.

Sora smiles, "I know their names, I know everyone's names. It's just that, at some points, I don't remember right away. And if I can't do that, you'll get a temporary nickname."

The conversation progresses as we continue to bring up different topics about the doors, the school, and so forth. Suddenly, Sora pauses and tenses up slightly.

"Hey, why're you trying to talk to me?" He asks with a hint of alarm in his voice. "No one's personally asked me anything about myself except Jaxx... Do you need something?"

I immediately shake my head, "N-No! I'd like to get to know my classmates, that's all. How about it? Can I ask you some things about yourself?"

Sora then requests to know what about. I think of a few things we could talk about. We could talk about his talent, or about... Math? No, that's a random topic to talk about. Or we can talk about how he's told up here. I'll go with his talent. So far, it's been working with everyone I've talked to.

I suggest that Sora tell me more about his talent, more than the Hope's Peak Academy research can provide. He starts with how he had gained recognition for his talent. At first, he was in the performing arts at his elementary and middle schools. Then, in 6th grade, he displayed high potential to move up to a higher position and that the school's drama was "lacking" the audience Sora needed, according to his director at the time.
