~Alex's POV~
The afternoon passes in the blink of an eye. We don't do much talking due to the sheer exhaustion growing as the time passes in a flash. As I'm zoned out in my thoughts, Jade suddenly screams and her head immediately shoots up from my shoulder. Her panic doesn't render for a moment until I recognize her scream and start looking around uneasily. Drake slowly raises his eyes from his game and over to Jade, who is now standing and staring at the wall we're leaning our backs on.
"What's wrong?" I ask, yawning after my sentence.
Jade points to the wall with a disgusted look. "Spider!"
"Hm?" With a hum, I turn my head over my shoulder and peer up at the wall. I don't notice anything peculiar, neither does Drake. I stare at the wall aimlessly before lowering my head and looking toward Jade— she's still staring at the wall with hunched shoulders and her hands on her arms.
Drake sighs and slowly confirms, "There's nothing there. What are you talking about?"
"How can you miss it?! It's huge!" Jade frets, gesturing back to the wall before rolling her eyes. "... It's right there, guys. Look, it's going on the roof."
"Bae, there's nothing—" I yawn widely and rub my eyes. "There's nothing there, alright? No... No need to panic."
"It's crawling up the— ... Now there's two!"
Slumping back against the wall, Drake slips his game back into his bag. "It's the motive. Jade, when's the last time you slept?"
She stops briefly and thinks about it. Then shrugs and says, "I don't know. I think about three days ago?"
"That's a problem because this is only the second day with the motive."
"Oh... Oh, well," Jade shrugs it off. She rubs her hands on her shorts and allows her head to fall toward her shoulder.
I force myself out of Jade's bed and stretch. I don't know how much longer I can go with this motive, the desire to sleep is becoming significantly worse as the days slowly pass. I'm starting to understand what Monokuma meant by "temptations". Jade's bed seemed much more comfier than it had before, the pillows seemed fluffier, and don't get me started on the warmth of the room. This has already become agitating.
Drake stands up from the bed as well and tosses his bag strap over his shoulder. "I think we should go down to the main hall or the cafeteria, whichever is closer," Drake suggests in a slower voice than usual.
Jade blinks nervously as she looks over at the gamer. "Why?... And why is your hair red? Did you dye it?"
"Because we should be able to go and get an energy drink or coffee or something... Also, no, I didn't?"
I open my mouth to speak, but I'm cut off by a blaring alarm that intuitively causes the three of us to cover our ears. I wince as I press my palms against my ears and wait for the alarm to stop. Once it does, I reluctantly lower my hands, looking around anxiously.
"I wonder which idiot tried falling asleep," Jade snickers out of the corner of her mouth with tightly folded arms.
I sigh, "Probably... Most of them."
Drake nods in agreement. "Most likely. You guys up for the idea, though?"
"Yes, I am! What flavors do they have? I hope they have raspberry blue... Orange berry green... Green apples... I don't know what I'm saying anymore."
