Chapter 3: Truths In The Dark Come to The Light

~Alex's POV~

The time rolls around before we know it. I make the others hide behind a curtain when Zach comes backstage to talk about the order. Together, we came up with the plan that the fashion show would go first, then his and Sora's performance. 

"To be entirely fair, I didn't know you could sing," I say, looking at Sora.

Sora scoffs, "Pfft, of course, I can! If I can voice act, you bet your ass that I've sung in multiple movies without auto-tune!"

With that, we hear the others entering the Music Arena. Zach and Sora leave backstage to join the others in the audience. The excitement I've felt earlier is now overrun with nervousness. I turn to face the models, who've come out from behind the curtain. 

"Is everyone alright? Does anyone need anything?"

Jade shakes her head, scratching aggressively behind her ear and into her hair. "No, we're all good!"

Levi chuckles, "Are you sure? You've been doing that ever since we've hid."

"Yes, I'm sure! I'm fine!" Jade drops her hand to her side. I glance over at Skye who's scratching the side of her neck just as aggressively as Jade.

I ask Skye if she's alright as well, to which she agrees and holds her hand in front of her. Her eye twitches, resisting the urge to scratch her neck again. Not even a minute later, She and Jade give in and scratch again.

"I swear to God if you both have lice..." Candi mumbles, taking a step away from Skye.

Skye looks over at Candi. "Hey, I don't have lice! And I know I don't! It's not my head, it's my neck. I don't know why..."

I take that into account. I think it may be the fabrics, but I'm not sure. I should've asked if they were allergic to anything. I raise my hand to the curtain and pull it back slightly to peek through. When I do, I see everyone else out there including Light—... I gasp as a smile breaks out onto my face. I turn to Levi and Jade.

"You two were able to get him?"

Levi and Jade smile together at me. Now, I feel better about this. I look back out and notice that everyone's out there. 

I take a deep breath. "Alright, I'll go out there, do a little speech-y thing, then I'll announce you guys' names. You guys can do whatever you want— No fire or weapons, Jade!"

Jade almost immediately sucks her teeth and shoves something in her pocket. She then returns to scratching behind her ear.

"And you're going to have to stop doing that," Skye says, dropping her hand from her neck and holding them together in front of her.

"I'm trying, I'm trying," She repeats, holding her hands on her hips.

Was there something in the curtain I didn't know about? I feel like, if there was, then all of them would've been scratching as badly as Jade and Skye were. However, Candi, Charli, and Levi appear to be fine. What's up with them?

I glance up at a clock in the corner: 5:04. I let them know that I'll go out there now and start the speech. Skye nods and walks over to the light panel. She dims all of the lights except for a spotlight shining down upon the microphone.
