Chapter 4: For the Truth...

~Alex's POV~

"I gotcha all!" Sora reveals, opening his eyes.

Everyone stares at him, completely flabbergasted. My jaw hangs low and my eyebrows are furrowed in annoyance and irritation. Everyone's expression and reactions vary, especially the pair in front of us.

Light doubles over laughing, dropping the bat beside him. As he sits up, Sora shakes his head, sending drops of... Blood on the floor around him. He laughs as he rakes his fingers through his hair.

He glares at Jaxx with a competent smirk. "You should've seen your face! I didn't know you'd care so much about me, hehe."

"Oh, whatever," Jaxx murmurs, rolling his eyes. "It's not about you. It's just... It caught me off guard. I'm not prepared to do another trial, Moron!"

"It caught you off guard because it was me!"

Jaxx and Sora's bickering continues, debating whether or not Jaxx cares or not... I saw his face, he definitely cared, by the way. Meanwhile, the rest of us are left with shocked feelings. Charli's babbling nonsense under her breath, Luca's eye twitches restlessly as they fight the urge to tackle the pair, and my jaw can unlock and fall to the floor with how long it's been dropped. Out of my peripheral, I can see Jade balling her fists and quickly being stopped by Drake's arm before she marches up to the two guys.

Jade grumbles through gritted teeth, "That was not funny!"

"Of course, it was," Sora taunted, breaking his argument with Jaxx up temporarily. He tilts his head and droplets of blood drip onto his clothing. "Imagine if Light had the balls to kill again, what do you reckon would happen?"

The fighter bellows at Sora, "Alex would've lost her-" She pauses, taking in what Sora has said. She then points at him and cocks her head to the side. "Did you just say "reckon"?"

Sora's eyebrows crease, eclipsing his eyes. "I lived in England for a while. Old habits die hard."

Light ties his hoodie around his waist as he asks, "Sora, how are we going to get all of this fake blood out?"

"Fake blood?" Skye repeats curiously.

"Mhm! You should know of everyone," said Sora, gesturing toward Skye.

Skye contemplates for a moment what he is talking about, then it's as if a lightbulb had appeared over her head and she slams a fist into her opposite palm. "You mean the Entertainment Supplies building, right?"

Sora nods. He then pulls himself up from the ground and adjusts his clothing. "I've got it from the one and only... Entertainment Supplies shop! It's quite hefty, but we managed to sneak it here successfully."

"... You two are insufferable," Drake groans, massaging the bridge of his nose.

Sora and Light disappear through the hall of mirrors briskly. Before they left, they told us that they'd be out in a second and that it'd be much appreciated if we waited for them outside since Light wanted to ride the big red roller coaster, too. Since we agreed, we left the hall of mirrors and waited outside idly.

Since it became too much for them to wait so long, Charli, Skye, and Jade go to explore around. However, they don't go far. They wander the paths behind us with all of the carnival games and point to which prizes they'd pick if they win. I watch them from the front of the funhouse as they cheerfully talk about their game plans and Skye spills the tricks to winning those games.
