~Alex's POV~

I don't sleep at all. I lay on my bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. I can feel my mascara-stained tears dry on my face. At least I'll look dramatic, right? Light's letter rests beside my head. The morning announcement rings throughout the school dorms. I'm not planning on moving. Is he dead this time? Did he get what they wanted? I can already feel the tears burning in my eyes again, I press my palms to my eyes.

There are a couple of knocks on my door. I groan and slowly sit up from my bed. Tiredly, I drag myself over to my door, unlock it, and pull it open. I'm met with the faces of Luca and Charli. They're both tense and worried. I already know that I look like a mess at the moment, but I can't bring myself to care.

"Hi, Alex," Charli mumbles, bringing her hands together. "A-Are you...?"

I don't respond. I don't know how to at the moment.

Luca clears their throat, "Uh, I know you're not doing the best right now. And one of the reasons we've decided to come get you is to check on you first."

"... One of the reasons?" I mutter, my eyes falling on Luca.

"Yeah, there's... Something going on, and we don't know what it is," Luca replies with a nervous tint.

Charli nods, "T-They're acting weird... But, i-it's not their usual weird. It's s-something else."

I hum in response. Then, I consider if I should leave or not. Do I feel better enough to leave? I look back at the duo in front of me and agree to go.

"I'll... Be out in a moment," I mumble, slowly closing the door.

My attempts to wake myself up are futile. I tread over to the bathroom and wash my face. It takes me some time to get the mascara off of my face. All of the makeup comes off and I finish washing my face properly. I then brush my teeth, then I redo my makeup quickly. I do my hair and notice that the strand of hair is now sulking further than it was yesterday. I sigh and leave the bathroom.

I grab my key and my e-handbook from my desk and open the front door again. When I look at them again, I realize that Charli's still wearing the outfit from last night. It's still as cute as ever. I step out of the room and lock it behind me.

Together, we start to make our way to the main hall. They've been asking me questions about how I've been doing these past few hours and if I've noticed anyone was acting strange. To answer that, I haven't seen anything like that... Unless we're counting the scratching everyone was doing last night.

"I mean... I only saw some of them scratching themselves aggressively, if that counts as weird," I comment, adjusting the bracelets on my wrist and my rings.

Luca then looks over at me, "Can I ask who you saw?"

I recall, "It's-... I remember seeing Skye and Jade scratching after they came out from behind the curtain. Why?"

"Dang," They hiss. "You'll see. I'm not sure if it's happening to anyone else, but Skye and Jade are in the main hall right now. They're the ones acting strange."

Curiosity rises in my body again. We arrive at the main hall's doors and I don't even have to open them to hear loud sobbing coming from the other side. Reluctantly, I open the door and then I get to see it from myself.
