Chapter 3: Truths In The Dark Come to The Light

~Light's POV~

I've ruined everything. Everything hurts, and I can't move. I'm stuck here in the trial room on my side. This stupid black and white oso won't leave me alone... The cats are by his side and they've been trying to determine my punishment for hours...

My hair's in my face and I can hear myself breathing heavily. Skye wants me dead, I know she does. She almost took my life successfully an hour ago. I wish she did. I feel that my punishment for killing and surviving by that stupid motive is enough... I'm stuck here in this bullshit world with my guilt and regret. 

I shouldn't have killed her... I didn't mean to, I didn't... I blacked out. Earlier today, I had hit my head where the scar was. I'm fucked up, I've never fully healed and it's... It's ruined me... She didn't even fight back...

*Flashback*

Kat sat on the stool beside mine. "Alright, what'd you want to talk about?"

"Uhh..." I watch as she fiddles with the packing of the Smarties candy. "I... Want to talk about the motive."

"Mhm, which one?" She pumps both packs of Smarties onto the table in front of us. "The Invincible one or the secret assassin?"

I reply, "The second one."

Kat nods. She looks up at me and rests her elbow against the table. "Alright... What's wrong, you seem tense?"

"Nothing. Can I ask who's your target? I'll tell you mine. I've been asking everyone and so far, I haven't gotten an answer."

She's hesitant to tell me, but I'm sure that the expression on my face gives it away. "It's... You. You're my target. By your face, I can tell that I'm yours."

I slowly nod. We sit there in silence. Her eyes drop to the ground. I'm not controlling myself. My hand secretly reaches into my pocket, pulls out two pills, and quickly places them in the bunch of smarties on the table. To stop the suspicion, I grab a regular smart and eat it. 

She looks back at the smartie, then at me with a smile. "You like Smarties?"

"Gummy worms are better," I quickly say. I can tell my nervousness is showing. My head hurts... I quickly wipe my nose on my sleeve before the blood can start running down.

Kat cups the smarties in her hands and continues to eat them. My stomach hurts badly. I want to vomit right here right now and slap the Smarties out of her hand and run. But, I can't. I can't. I'm not in control. I can only watch and mentally scream at myself. In the window's reflection, I can see my eyes. They're blank and... Spinning? This isn't me...

I then hear coughing. I look over to Kat and see her patting her chest and struggling to keep her head up. My chest and throat tighten. Save her, save her... I can't.
