Chapter 4: For the Truth...

~Alex's POV~

A new motive? I think to myself curiously, my eyes finally adjusting to my surroundings.

Monokuma cheerfully continues his announcement, "For more information, please head to the Main Hall! Be sure not to doze off along the way... It's important that you don't!"

The TV shuts off, leaving us in silence with more and more questions. I'm sure we're all collectively hating how secretive Monokuma can be at times... Such as now.

Jade groans, falling back onto her sleeping bag with closed eyes. "I don't want to!... It's too early," She gripes, dragging her hands down her face.

Drake pushes himself up from the chair and rolls his right shoulder in circles saying, "I know. Then again, we're up against a bear that'll be locked and loaded at any moment... C'mon."

"I don't even know what planet I'm on," Skye grumbles, sitting up from the mattress, the pillow falls into her lap. "I'm sure... He'd be considerate enough to..." Skye's head lolls to the side as her eyes close slowly.

A small snore escapes her lips before another alarming sound blares over the speakers. I swiftly slip my fingers into my ears as I stand up. Everyone covers their ears, showing evident discomfort from their tightly closed eyes and scrunched noses.

Charli shakingly removes her hands from her ears once the alarm stops. "Wh-What is with that?! It's s-so annoying!"

"It has something to do with that damn bear!" Jade shouts, finally standing up from the sleeping bag. She slips her mix-matched socks on and stomps out of the room with a determined glare on her face. Together we leave Drake's room and into the hall. All of the guys sleeping in Zach's room were out there, too.

Jaxx flings out his forearm, temporarily stopping Jade before she goes any further. "Calm down. We're all going together."

Jade scoffs, raises an arm, and shoves Jaxx's arm out of the way. I'll take it that Jade's the type of person to become grumpy if she's woken up in any way, shape, or form. As tired as we were, we groggily dragged ourselves from the dorm hall and down to the main hall. Sora, Light, Skye, and Jade were complaining nonstop during the journey about how unnecessary and full of shit this was. We did nothing to stop them since we all understood their anger about the situation deep down.

By the time we reached the main hall, everyone had woken up to some extent. Sora pushes the gigantic doors of the main hall open and steps in, we all follow. A chill runs through my body as the cold air of the main hall hits my skin. My hands find their home on my arms and I sigh shakily. There's no one else in the main hall except for us. 

We walk further into the main hall and absentmindedly crowd together in front of the empty stage. Glancing around the main hall, I try to catch Monokuma in case he's trying to do a sneak attack on us. I secretly pray that he doesn't do a sneak-up on us. I draw my attention back toward the stage, hoping for something to happen that's worth waking up so early.

After a few empty seconds, Monokuma's giggle echoes through the main hall before he appears with a 'pop' from behind the podium. Charli shockingly doesn't scream this time.

Monokuma looks at all of our faces, then says, "Hm, you guys look quite tired. Did someone awake the princesses from their beauty rest?"

"Oh, shut up and get on with it," Sora orders through gritted teeth, adjusting the oversized jacket on his shoulders.
