"Last night was a mistake." I say to Rick as we walk down the front porch steps.
Rick stops in his tracks. "Luna...."
"It can't happen again." I say, still walking to join the group. Rick's hand reaches for mine and pulls me into him. His other hand rests on my lower back. He puts my hair behind my ear. He leans in and kisses me.
Riley was sitting on the porch and noticed the kiss. Riley liked Rick, but didn't like how fast things were moving. He was giving us a look.
Even though it was wrong, I smile before we part.
*********
A couple days had gone by. Glenn found out there were walkers in the barn and told us. We decided to clear them out, even though Hershel was mainly against it. It needed to be done. The last walker that came out of the barn was little Sophia. The girl everyone, especially Daryl and Riley, were looking for. She must had been bit, then turned. Rick shot her in the head, sparing the rest of the group the pain of doing that. Sage cried because the little girl was around her age. Carl took it really hard, or he did.He looked at me and said, "I would have shot her, too." I was concerned for him. And Sage. Sage was growing up too fast on me. Rick had taught her how to shoot a gun. He thought it would be best to learn from someone else other than me, and he was right. As her momma, it was hard to see her have to grow up so fast and learn how to shoot walkers. Rick was a good teacher and she loved him. He watched over her, protected her, taught her things, and loved her. He was truly a man of many wonders.
I let Andrea take over watch for me. I cleaned the barn out and did my best to get the dead smell out.
"How's it coming?" Rick asks.
"Good. I think the smell is gone now." I say.
Rick and I sniff and groan. "Okay, maybe I still need to work on that. I really miss bath and body works right about now." I say, laughing.
"I think I might know where to find some candles." Rick says, looking at me and then quickly turning away. He acted like a nervous teenager.
I raise a brow. "Oh yeah?"
He inches closer. He wraps his hands around my waist and whispers. "Yeah."
Our lips are centimeters apart. I wanted to kiss him, but I had to resist.
"Meet me here... at sundown." I say, before quickly kissing his cheek and walking away.
Rick puts his hands on his hips, standing in awe. I didn't want to look back. It would only make me run up to him and kiss him even more than I do right now.
After helping Maggie clean up dinner, she notices a light coming from the barn.
She looks at me and smirks. "Do I even wanna know?"
