DAY 1 WITHOUT LUNA | Broken
After the Saviors left and took Luna, I felt broken inside. We lost Glenn and Abraham, and it was my fault. Now, Luna was gone. She was carrying my child... and they just took her. I knew that Negan was her father... and I didn't even get a chance to tell her. I don't even know if I should. I needed her here... without her by my side, I didn't know how to put all the pieces back together. She was the only one who could. Now it was just me and our three children. Without their mother, they would need me, more than ever. I look over to Carl and Sage. They looked completely shattered. Everyone was else was, too. This destroyed us. It broke us. I don't know how we move past this. Maybe we don't... but we had to. I had three kids to raise on my own now, until Negan let Luna return, if he ever did. We just sat there, in silence. We all had lost something that night.
Maggie struggles to get to her feet. "Maggie. Maggie." I say to her, as she sobs. She continues to walk a little.
"Maggie... you need to sit down. Maggie." I say.
"No. No." she says, not looking at me. I didn't blame her.
"We need to get you to the Hilltop." I say to her.
"You need to go get ready." she says to me.
"For what?" I ask her.
"To fight them." she says.
"They have Luna... and they have Daryl. They have an army. We would die... all of us." I say.
"Go home. Take everybody with you. I can get there by myself." she cries.
"You can barely stand up." I say.
"I need to go. You need to go to Alexandria. You were out... out here for me. So was Luna... now she's gone, too." she says.
"We still are. Luna's working on a plan. She's gonna be our eyes and ears... she's gonna help us take them down... once we know more." I say to her.
She starts to sob. I couldn't even fathom what she was feeling. "I can make it now. I need you to go back. I can't have you out here. I can't have you all out here anymore. I need you to go back." she says to us.
"Maggie...we're not letting you go. Okay?" Michonne says.
"Let us help you." Riley says.
"No. You have to." she says to them.
"It's not gonna happen." I say. Sasha stands up and joins Maggie's side.
"I'm taking her." she says. "I'm gonna get her there. I'm gonna keep her safe. I'm not giving you a choice."
"I'm taking him with me." Maggie says, referring to Glenn.
Sasha bends down to Rosita's level. "I'm gonna take him. That's what I'm gonna do." she says to her. Rosita nods.
