It had been a while since anything bad had happened. We had more people now, from taking those in from Woodbury. We now had crops, pigs, horses, and extra hands. It was going good. I could tell Rick was happier, too. He would start every morning the same. He would get up early, splash his face with water, and get to work on the garden.
We were finally happy. Judith was growing every day. Carl and Sage had seemed to return to normal, whatever that is nowadays. They stayed up late, usually talking or reading comic books. They were happy now, too. There were other kids now from Woodbury. I liked having more people around, but at times, I miss when the group was smaller.
The walkers around the fence had started piling up. I usually helped with taking care of that. While Rick tended to the crops, I tended to the walkers. While I was happy, I started having nightmares again. I haven't had them since before... before the world fell. I used to dream about the Bonejack....aka Jared. Those dreams had returned. Maybe it was the attack from Woodbury that triggered it, I don't know. I wake up in the middle of the night, gasping for air and grabbing my chest. Rick would always wake up and make sure I was okay, before he fell back asleep...but I didn't. I was afraid to shut my eyes, because every time I did, I saw him. I didn't tell Rick what I was seeing, just that it was a bad dream. So, killing walkers every day helped me relieve the frustration I had. I don't know why I was scared. Jared was dead, and no longer a threat. I just had a feeling... that something bad was coming our way.

Rick started his day the same. He got up and stared working on the garden. He usually put ear phones in to drown out the walkers. I usually got up when he did. I fed Judith, and got the kids up.
I take Judith outside to check on Rick. Carl and Sage join me. Rick was standing outside of the pig pen. One of the pigs looked half dead.
"You didn't wake me up." Carl says.
"Yeah, because you were up all night reading comics with a flash light." Rick tells him. We laugh, even Judith cooed.
"What's wrong with Violet?" Sage says.
"I told you not to name them. They aren't piglets anymore, they're food." Rick tells her.
"I just thought, you know until.... okay." Sage says.
"I don't know what's going on with her. Could be sick, could be nothing. Feel better, Violet." Rick says, looking at Sage who was smiling ear to ear.
"I like Violet. That's a good name." I say.
"Yeah, me too." Carl says.
Rick smiles and let's out a chuckle. "Come on, let's get to it."
Rick puts his arm around me. "Good morning, beautiful."
