We finally get out of bed and get dressed in our uniforms. Well, Rick had a uniform. I just wore my normal clothes with my FBI jacket.
We go outside the gates to meet with Daryl and Carol. I had hoped Carol had gotten the guns while Rick and I had to endure that horrendous party. Although, the after party was definitely worth it.
"You look like shit. Both of ya." Daryl says.
"Geez, thanks Daryl." I say, rubbing my forehead. The sun was definitely not helping my hangover.
"Are you hungover?" Carol asks.
"Yes... we both are." Rick says.
Carol laughs, then pulls out the guns she gathered from last night. "Take your pick." she says.
"Look, I've been thinking... do we really need these? I mean if things go bad, yeah sure. We do what we gotta do, but... it's like you said. We don't need these for that." Daryl says.
"Right now we don't." Carol says.
"You wanted me to try, right? I'm good." Daryl says.
Rick reaches for one of the guns, but hesitates. I squeeze his hand in mine, and grab the other one. We put the guns behind our backs, out of sight. I could tell Daryl didn't like the idea of this... but he wasn't going to stop us.
We walk back inside the gates... going our separate ways. As we walk, Pete and Jessie walk by.
"Hey Rick." Jessie says, as they wave. She completely ignored my existence.
"Bitch." I mumble, as Rick laughs. Rick just gives a little grin before wrapping his arm around me and kissing my forehead.
"Come on. Screw them." Rick says, as we walk towards the walls between the houses.
"What are we doing?" I ask him.
He grabs my hand and puts it on the wall. "You feel that?" he asks, as I could feel a walker throw itself repeatedly at the wall. Rick smiles at me.
"They are out there. We are in here... together. It feels good, doesn't it?" he asks.
"Yeah... it does." I say.
*****************************
Noah had told us that he wanted to learn architecture from Reg. Rick and I thought that would be a good idea. Noah joined Glenn, Tara, Eugene, Aiden, and Nicholas on a run.
Rick and I did some morning patrol. When we passed Jessie's house, I stop. I noticed her cleaning up a big mess. Now, I hated her, but I had to put feelings aside for my job.
"Hey everything ok?" I ask her, as Rick stands behind me.
"Hey... I don't know. Maybe somebody doesn't like owls." she says to us.
"Someone came in here and did this?" I ask her.
"Yeah." she says. I walk inside her garage and bend down to look through the parts. Rick stands behind me... I think he felt unsure what to do in this moment. He wanted to help, but also didn't want to piss me off.
"Stuff like this never happens here." she says.
"Well... do you have any enemies or maybe someone who just hates owls?" I ask.
Jessie chuckles. "Too bad there isn't somebody who could look into this kind of thing." Rick says.
"Oh yeah, that would be great, Rick." Jessie says to him.
"Well... I was talking about Luna. This is kind of her thing." Rick says, smiling down at me.
"Oh...." Jessie says, as I can hear the disappointment in her tone.
