(Fan cover I made for myself for this chapter. Enjoy!!!!)
"Hello slut," Sean said as I walked into the classroom.
I just ignored it and sat down. I had forgotten he was in my fourth period.
Hunter was right behind me.
"Call her that name again and I'll put my foot so far up your ass, you'll be throwing up my boot laces," Hunter said.
The class laughed at that and Sean backed down. I smirked. It was about time he shut up.
The rest of the class period was quiet and I was grateful. No one was going to say shit as long as Hunter was around. He was like my little watchdog.
After class, I walked out as fast as I could. Hunter followed right behind me.
"You ok, Liz?" Hunter asked.
"I'm just fine. Can we skip lunch today?" I asked.
Hunter nodded.
About 10 minutes later, we were up on the school roof, sitting and talking.
Hunter pulled out his famous cigarettes and began smoking.
I watched as he closed his eyes before exhaling out a bunch of smoke.
"You wanna try?" Hunter asked.
I shrugged and Hunter passed it to me.
I put in between my lips before inhaling way too much smoke. I coughed out smoke.
"Probably should've told you to only do a little at a time," Hunter replied.
"Yeah. I almost had an asthma attack," I said.
I inhaled only a bit this time and exhaled it out.
"There you go," Hunter said before taking out another cigarette and lighting it.
"I could see why you like them so much," I replied.
"Yeah. They're super addictive," Hunter said.
"Not good," I said.
"Whatever, mom," Hunter said in a mocking tone.
Taking my last puff, I stomped on it before exhaling.
"I'm glad you're the only one I can talk to," I said.
"I love it too. I think I-," Hunter began to say.
"What?" I asked, still happy.
Hunter shook his head before saying, "Nothing."
"What you said to Sean last period was funny," I said, laughing.
"I meant every fucking word. He can't expect to get away with treating you like shit just because he couldn't be the one to pop your cherry," Hunter said.
"You promised me you weren't going to fight him," I said.
"I'm not. I'm just voicing my opinion," Hunter replied.
"Your opinions always sound like death threats. Or is it just me?" I asked.
"Just you," Hunter answered.
"Will you be completely be honest with me?" I asked.
"Yes," Hunter answered.
"What do you want more than anything in the world?" I asked.
"It used to be money. Lots and lots of money. So I could, like, make tons of rehab programs to help out people like my real parents. That was going to be the big dream for me. I knew it was what I wanted. But now...all I really truly want is you," Hunter answered.
