Two years later (read in Spongebob Narrator Guy Voice)
I laughed as the sea breeze blew through my hair. Hunter and I were at the beach, on a date. Our two year anniversary date. That's right. We were together and stronger than ever.
"Jesus Christ! It's been two years since we've known eachother," Hunter said.
"Time's a bitch," I said.
"I know. We're practically grown ups now," Hunter said.
"I still feel seventeen," I replied honestly.
"Huh. Well, that's in the past," Hunter said.
I roll my eyes and nod. I looked over at Hunter who seemed kind of nervous.
"What's the problem?" I asked, becoming nervous myself.
"You know I want to spend the rest of my life with you, right?" Hunter answered, looking at me.
"Yeah. Of course I know. I want to spend the rest of my life with you too," I said with a smile.
"I can't see myself anywhere else than here. I'm serious. And even though we've went through shit, I hope we can get past that and move forward, you know?" Hunter said.
"Of course. Why do I feel like you're keeping something from me," I said, narrowing my eyes at him suspiciously.
Hunter sighed before saying, "I've rehearsed it all in my head a gazillion times. But now that I'm here... I literally forgot everything I was supposed to say," Hunter said.
"Hunter? You're scaring me here! You shouldn't let your girlfriend of two years die of a heart attack," I exclaimed.
"Two glorious and sometimes trying years," Hunter said.
"I still can't believe it. Us being together. Sometimes I go back to that day we first met. And I wonder if I had lost the courage to talk to you and just left, none of this would be happening. Its a little bit surreal at times but I love it," I replied.
"I don't like to think about the what ifs about us if I already have you. So what's the point?" Hunter asked.
I nodded and smiled. Now I knew he was going to love the surprise I was going to tell him for our two year anniversary date.
Hunter stood up and pulled me up.
"What happened?" I asked.
"I wanna get it just right," Hunter answered.
"What are you-?" I began to ask.
I shut up when I saw him get on one knee and gasped when he pulled out that tiny box almost every girl dreamed of seeing.
"I know this is terribly cliché but I love you, Lizbeth Steele, and will do anything to make you love me. Even if it means changing last names," Hunter said.
"Oh. My. God," I said, not sure what else to say.
Hunter laughed nervously before asking, "Will you marry me, Liz?"
I mentally shouted Whippee!!!!!
"Yeah, Grey. I think Lizbeth Grey sounds about perfect, don't you think?" I asked.
"I think so," Hunter answered with a laugh.
He slipped the ring on and I smiled all goofy.
I hugged him tightly and he hugged back.
Then I let go and looked at him.
"What?" Hunter asked.
"I really think you should sit down for this one," I answered.
Hunter knit his eyebrows in confusion and sat down.
"You know this is normally around the time I'd get my... shark week," I began.
Hunter nodded, knowing that I would call my period shark week.
"Well, I didn't. So I may have gotten a test to be on the safe side," I continued.
Hunter's eyes widened.
"And I'm pregnant!" I shouted.
Hunter grabbed me and kissed me all over my face.
"Really?" Hunter asked.
I nodded before saying, "Yeah. I know we never really talked about having kids but..."
"But what? I love it! I'm so excited!" Hunter exclaimed.
"You're holding back something. I feel it," I said.
"Its just that... I've always wanted to be a better dad than my dad ever was. And I know I can," Hunter replied.
"Of course you will. You're already an excellent father to FSP," I said.
Hunter laughed before saying, "I may not be a children expert but I know enough to differentiate between a cat and a baby."
"Whatever. You have to nurture and take care of both," I said with a shrug.
"True. What do you want it to be?" Hunter asked.
"I would like a girl but if I got a boy, I'd still love him. You?" I answered.
"I'm so used to babying Sammy that I wouldn't mind a girl. Except I'd train her to be nothing like Sammy," Hunter said.
I laughed a little before frowning.
"I'm just sad that my Dad isn't around," I said.
"Don't be. He'll come around eventually. It's his grand baby after all," Hunter replied.
"He basically rejected me after I got back with you and kicked me out recently. I don't think he cares about me anymore," I said.
Hunter wrapped his arm around my shoulder before saying, "I know that feeling all too well. You'll get through it. I promise you. Just don't push away the people who love you. Like moi. I know he'll be back. I just know it."
I looked at Hunter before smiling.
"I love you so much, babe," I said, leaning my head into his shoulders.
"Love you too, Lizbeth-soon to be-Grey," Hunter replied with a grin.
I kissed him and he kissed back. We just stayed that way as the sun began to set.
*bursts out crying* My Little Monster is over. I know. But hey, I got a surprise. I'm putting up the sequel tonight/or today (depends on the time zone you're in) so yeah. It'll be a lot more drama filled than My Little Monster. So warning, you will probably fan girling. So side effects include... yelling, crying, throwing phone, smashing laptop. arguing with parents, getting grounded, and suicide. The last one was a joke. I hope.
See you later,
Jade Edwards
