I bit my lip as I layed naked (covered, of course. Cuz that would be awkward) next to Hunter.

"Talk to me, Liz-pizzle," Hunter said before looking at me.

"Fine. Fine. But I'm going to need a cigarette for this," I said.

Hunter passed me one from his jacket pocket that was on the floor along with a lighter.

I waited a minute before saying, "I got a letter from my mom. And..."

"And...," Hunter said in anticipation.

"I found out she has cancer. She's known for a year but she decides to tell me now out of all the time she has to live. Did I mention she has only eleven months to live? And she decides to reconcile now?" I said bitterly.

"I'm sorry," Hunter said meekly.

I laugh bitterly before saying, "Ok. I get it. She's dying and she wants her business taken care of. But the least she could've done was talk to me beforehand. I can't believe fucking cancer is what gets her talk to me," I replied.

"I don't think it's the cancer that's making her want to talk to you. Sure, it's a huge factor but I think she's always wanted to talk to you. This just gave her the extra nudge," Hunter said.

"I dunno. This is just nuts," I said before closing my eyes and laying on Hunter's chest.

"Its ok. At least, you'll finally get to see her," Hunter said.

"It's whatever," I said, all snuggled up.

"How's FSP?" Hunter asked.

"She's good. But you haven't seen her in forever. I'm going to have to put cat support on your ass," I answered.

"Cat support?" Hunter asked.

"Its like child support for cats. You never see her anymore. You don't pay for her food. She pees everywhere! And as a father, you should be there more," I answered jokingly.

"You're so stupid," Hunter said, laughing.

"I know," I said with a grin.

"But you're right. I love cats," Hunter replied.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah. I'm a old cat lady stuck in a handsome young man's body," Hunter answered.

"Did you say handsome young man?" I asked.

"I speak only the truth," Hunter answered.

"You're so conceited," I said with a laugh.

"I'm not conceited," Hunter replied with a shrug.
"Then what are you?" I asked, looking up at him.

"I'm a classic man," Hunter sang.

I reached up and smacked Hunter in the back of the head.

"Ow," Hunter said with a smile.

"I'm going to shoot that song whenever I get the chance," I replied.

"Don't do that. I won't let you. I'm gonna hug you so you can't go," Hunter said.

Hunter hugged me and I fake choked.

"H2O!" I exclaimed.

"That's water," Hunter said.

"If you weren't choking me half to death, I'd think straight," I said before laughing.

Hunter eased up a bit and I looked up at him. He was staring off into space.

"Do I make you happy?" Hunter asked.
