"Are you sure you'll be ok?" Hunter asked, once we were at my house.
I secured the jacket around me before saying, "Yes. I'll just say I slept over at your house because I left the keys at the house and I was too tired to wait for him."
"I'm teaching you so horribly," Hunter said with a laugh.
"But it's a good horribly," I said.
"What?" Hunter asked.
"I dunno," I said with a shrug.
"Love you," Hunter replied.
"Love you more," I said.
"Impossible," Hunter said.
"Yespossible," I said with a grin.
Hunter kissed me again and I kissed back. Then, I let go before climbing out the car and walking to the house. I could hear Hunter drive off as I unlocked the door and walked inside.
Dad was sitting on the staircase with a cup of coffee.
"Mind explaining yourself? And try not to give me bullshit," Dad asked.
"I spent the night at Hunter's because I forgot the key in the house and I was too tired to wait for you," I answered, sticking straight to the story.
"So you did nothing else?" Dad asked.
I shook my head fiercely, my dress moving around.
"Get changed," Dad said.I walked right past him to get up the stairs to get to my room. I changed into a simple shirt and jeans since I knew it was zero chance I was going to be going anywhere.
Just then, my phone vibrated.
It was a call from Hunter.
"Lizbeth speaking," I said.
"I have a great idea!" Hunter shouted through the phone.
"Trying not to go deaf here," I said.
"Sorry," Hunter said, "Doing anything tonight?"
"On lockdown, remember? My dad wasn't as livid as the other day but I don't want to push it," I replied.
"I'll even help you sneak out. Just say yes, please!" Hunter said.
"Yes," I answered.
"You're going to go to the club with me," Hunter said.
"No! This is where I draw the line, Hunter Grey," I replied.
"You already said yes and if I remember correctly, you don't back down on your word," Hunter said.
"You tricked me. Grrrr. What time?" I asked.
"Uh...late. Like 11:00-ish," Hunter answered.
"You better be here," I said.
"You better wear something nice," Hunter said.
"Same goes to you, Mr. Demanding," I replied.
"Trust me. I will. I look forward to seeing you again, Lizbeth Steele," Hunter said.
"Same to you, Hunter Grey," I said.
I hung up right after that and collapsed on the bed.
I was absolutely a changed girl. And it wasn't entirely because of last night.
I was slowly stepping outside of the box, doing more and more daring stuff.
Learning how to drive without a proper license. Or teacher.
