"Second floor... Fifty-fourth room," I mumbled as I found my way to the elevator.
I'd been to the office many times in my life, for I worked there... up until recently. But it felt different that day. I wasn't there for work. I was there to meet with... What was her name again? Right. I was there to meet with Marry Matsuda. She specialized in Omega pregnancies and was (apparently) one of the best in Japan... If not the world.
It was that day that I realized how many rooms were actually in this building. It was only one of the main offices apart of the Speedwagon Foundation, yet it was so vast. It made me feel so small, yet so important at the same time.
"Here we are!" I exclaimed. Suddenly, the door thrust open, and a tall woman glared down at me. I looked at her in shock, my eyes wide as we stared in silence.
"U-um... Hi," I finally said. She looked me up and down before moving away from the door and letting me walk inside. She said nothing. She didn't take her eyes off me. I felt so confused. Was there a single normal person at this foundation?
She shut the door behind me gently and sat in a red chair, motioning for me to sit in the identical one across from her. Once I was seated, her glaring expression seemed to fade.
"Good morning, Miss. L/n," She greeted with a smile and a small bow.
"G-Good morning, Mrs. Matsuda." I bowed respectively with a small sigh of relief. She seemed alright after all.
"Please excuse my rudeness earlier," She said. "Don't mention this to him, but I imagined the mate of Kujo Jotaro to be somewhat like him."
I chuckled, knowing exactly what she meant. "I understand. It's difficult dealing with someone like him. I apologize for causing such inconveniences."
Her lips pressed together, as though she were slightly worried by my words. "You're so kind. When Kujo asked me to personally be the one to help you throughout your pregnancy, I was quite worried that you would be a difficult patient, but I now can see that I was wrong."
She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small black object before placing it on the small coffee table in front of me. "This is a button," She said. "Pregnant Omegas are one of the most fragile beings living today, so by pressing this button you'll immediately have help sent to your location. There are no questions asked or time wasted. You are the foundation's first priority."
I looked at the small button. "What if I accidentally press it?" I asked, beginning to worry over the great amount that this small object could do.
"That won't happen," She assured. "This button, along with many others just like it, will be placed at different places you'll be. You'll never have this button on your person."
I nodded in understanding. "What about when I leave my home?"
"You'll be accompanied by Mr. Kujo or a personal attendant assigned by him. We won't be taking any risks."
I nodded again. It was all so new to me, but I was beginning to understand just how important this child was going to be. Just be the amount of protection given to it. I would also guard it with my life. Well... Not with my life. That would be no good.
