Huddled together, trembling as Mama and I waited for Jotaro's return, everything was silent. Yet it was so loud.
Every so often, a tiny whimper would escape either of our lips, but we didn't question it. We were so greatly frightened. So greatly anxious.
What was I to do if Jotaro didn't return in time?
Just as that thought entered my mind, there was a soft knock at the door. My head jerked in its direction, a small smile appearing on my pale face, but it quickly disappeared. Jotaro's scent wasn't present. Only traces of it remained.
Another knock broke the silent air, and I gasped, flinching away from the sound.
Mama looked at me with an identical wide-eyed expression before she hesitantly stood.
"W-Who is it...?" She questioned, tip-toeing slowly.
"Sato Yuuji," The knocker answered in a quiet, quivering voice.
"Yuuji?!" I exclaimed in confusion, leaping from the bed and running toward the door.
"Y/n?" He called out. "Y/n, do you know what's going on? Everyone... Everyone suddenly-!"
His voice immediately ceased when I thrust open the door and swung my arms around him.
"Yuuji!" I cried. "We don't know what's going on either!"
Oh, how relieved I was to see him.
His jaw clenched tightly as I let go, nearly falling backward from the growing weakness in my limbs. I whimpered quietly from a small feeling of pleasure the stumble brought to my core.
"Come inside, Yuuji, before-!"
Yuuji's hand was suddenly clutched Mama's face. Hard.
Before my eyes could even frow wide, her head was slammed against the door, and blood spilled to the floor as she collapsed.
I couldn't move. I couldn't breathe.
"Ma...ma?" I mumbled as I looked down at her, now unconscious beside me. "Yuuji...?" I looked back up at him and my pupils nearly disappeared.
He was... smiling.
His cheeks were flushed, and his eyes sparkled in the dim-lit hallway as he let out a small laugh.
"What...?"
"You have no idea how many times I've wanted to have you alone like this," He grinned, taking a wobbly step toward me. "And amid your greatest heat, no less!"
"Why did you... do that to Mama?" I asked in disbelief, stepping backward with each step he took toward me.
"Why?" He chuckled as though the answer was obvious. "I wanted to be alone. I've been trying for a long time, yet it's always been foiled by those bastards."
"What...?"
"Oh, Y/n," He cooed. "I understand your confusion and fright, but I have such good news."
"Yuuji, you..." I hesitated. Yuuji was a good friend. Someone I trusted greatly. Yet he'd just done something horrible to Mama, and he was talking about such confusing things.
"I wish I didn't have to do such things," He admitted, reaching out and taking my hands in his. I flinched, but after seeing his strength just a minute early, I didn't dare move away. "Hurting you and putting the blame on an innocent man... but you have to believe me, Y/n, this was all so that you could break free of that... that... embarrassment of a man's clutch!" He scowled, his hold on me tightening enough to bruise my hands.
"You mean... that night-"
"That night," He scoffed, rolling his eyes excessively. "Why is that always how you refer to the event? That was the night I was serious about removing your mark, but Tsukishima intervened." He gritted his teeth in remembrance.
"R-removing my mark?" I questioned. "But it's-"
"There is only one way to remove an Alpha's claiming mark, Y/n," He informed, holding up his index finger. "And that's by removing the skin where the mark resides. Once the skin is gone, your newly desired mate will bite the wound. But worry not, for the injury will heal immediately after the second bond is made."
My eyes grew wide. Not because I'd just learned such information that contradicted the most important thing any Omega was taught... but because Yuuji fully intended to go through with it.
"I don't... want to erase Jotaro's mark," I objected, furrowing my brows angrily as I swiped my hands away from him. "I love him."
"No," He snapped. "You don't."
I scowled. "Of course, I do. Why would I marry him, if I didn't?"
"Because you're bound to him! Your Omega is attracted to his Alpha, and his Alpha is attracted to your Omega! This is not love!"
