Chapter 31- Can't Lie

"I'm sure you know this, Miss L/n," Mrs. Matsuda began once the appointment had reached its end. "but Omegas don't go into heat during pregnancies."

"Yes, I'm aware," I said.

"However, their sexual appetite multiplies immensely during most of their time pregnant. Sex is prohibited until I've allowed otherwise, Miss L/n," She explained. "Please remember that. For the sake of your own body. And for the sake of your child's."

I was scheduled to visit Mrs. Matsuda every day for a daily checkup. As I walked down the hall on the second floor, I suddenly smelled a familiar scent. It was Yuuji.

I turned around to see him closing a door further down the hall. He hadn't seemed to notice me yet.

Yuuji... I'd decided to trust his word, but I still didn't know why he was there that night. Why he was caught up in such a thing.

So I approached him.

"Good morning, Yuuji!" I exclaimed. He smiled as he finally noticed my presence.

"Morning, Y/n. Sorry I didn't notice you. My nose has been clogged up since this morning. Allergies, I assume," He said.

Yuuji's cheeks, looked a bit thin, now that I was seeing his face up close. The dark swollen color under his eyes seemed much deeper. His hair was much more disheveled, his blond, curly locks sticking up in more than a few different places.

"Yuuji," I began. He raised a brow in response. "Are you doing alright?"

His eyes left mine for less than a second, with a short laugh. "Of course! I've just been doing a lot of overtime this week," He answered. I supposed overtime could do that to a person.

"Alright..." I smiled. "Just take care of yourself."

"I will," He nodded, turning his foot to leave. "I should get back to work. I hope to see you again soon, Y/n."

I nodded, turning to leave myself when I remembered. "Ah! Yuuji!" I called out. He stopped walking, but he didn't turn around. "I'm taking some time off... from work, so I won't be seeing you or Sasaki for a while. Please keep an eye on her, okay?"

He looked at me as he said, "Of course. I'll keep her in check."

Sasaki and I were best friends, but, as much as it pained me to admit it, we didn't have each other's personal contact information. We emailed each other using our work addresses, but that was strictly for work use only.

So... I wouldn't be seeing her for a while.

"Did you find your way there alright?" Jotaro asked as I walked into his office.

"Yeah, I did," I sighed. "Mrs. Matsuda is... interesting."

He looked up from his computer with a raised brow. "Did she say something to you?" He asked in a sharp tone, his scent suddenly tense and sour.

I shook my head. "Nothing like that. I've just never met anyone like her before," I chuckled. "She-" I cut myself off before I could finish. I supposed I shouldn't have told him about the things she'd said. They weren't the kindest things...

"She what?"

"She... said she didn't like ice cream!" I blurted.

He tilted his head slightly, his brows scrunched in confusion. "Ice cream?" I nodded.

"I mean, who doesn't like ice cream?" I laughed, more nervous than I needed to be. "What about mochi, I thought. I mean, does she still dislike mochi?"

Jotaro suddenly stood from his chair and approached me. His footsteps were slow and pounding like he was walking in slow motion. I felt my heart pound as he came closer, his ocean-blue eyes staring into mine fiercely.

"Are you hungry?" He suddenly asked. His hand gently stroked my cheek, and his eyes stared at the caressed skin warmly. "Sweets seem to be on your mind. Would you like some ice cream?"

His hand moved down to my stomach, gently touching the white blouse where our child grew. His touch was so gentle, his fingertips tender on my sensitive skin. I felt so warm inside, but I didn't feel that I would overheat as I always did. I felt comfortable and safe.

But... I did want ice cream.
