Chapter 54- Adorable

     "You're much prettier up close, I must say," The old man, well... Mr. Joestar remarked as he took my hand and lightly pecked it. I blushed, of course, still bewildered by the whole situation.

     "It's... nice to meet you, Sir," I hesitated, my curiosity as to why and how he'd pulled a... prank... on me eager to be relieved. "Did you, by any chance, tell Sasaki something?"

     He chuckled, but before he could say a word, Mama interrupted. "We don't have time for this, Papa!" She yelled, standing and taking hold of my wrist. "Y/n still has much to prepare, and you aren't helping in the slightest!"

     His eyes widened as I stood. "Why are you so... tiny?"

     I slowly turned my head toward him with my brow somehow raised even higher.

     "I heard you were cute, but... I've been ripped off, I see," He laughed as he, very shakily, stood with the help of the bench. "You're absolutely adorable!"

     "Papa!" Mama snapped, guarding me with her arm as though he'd try something with me. I didn't argue, still in a daze as I tried to process the situation. "She needs to get dressed, but you've got her angry at her friend, so now you must explain before we're on our way! You can cause trouble anywhere but here, do you understand!"

     There was something I'd noticed as I continued to get to know Mama bit by bit:

     She was very protective of me.

     Who knew why?" Not me.

     "Ah," Mr. Joestar chuckled once again, his body nearly trembling as he stood before us. "I wanted to test her love for my grandson, of course!" He admitted without hesitation. "She seemed the type to fall for others' words easily, so I had to see for myself if she'd stick by his side, no matter who the words came from."

     "That's no excuse!" Mama scolded.

     "Whaaaat?!" He whined, just like a child would. "It was for their greater good!"

     Mama groaned, placing her head in her free hand, for the other was still guarding me. "Just... please let things go smoothly from now on?" She asked, sounding a bit tired, though it was still morning and the festivities had yet to begin.

     Mr. Joestar nodded with a cheeky grin. "Whatever you say, Holly."

     "Sasaki," I sighed. "I love you, but-"

     "I'm so sorry!" Sasaki suddenly yelled, smashing her head to the floor in a low bow. "Please, forgive me, Y/n-Chan! He examined everything, and as close as we are, I knew you'd be mad, but I wanted to know the same as he did. I wanted to know if your love was truly unbreakable!"

     I pressed my lips together with guilt. She truly had been thinking about me while hurting my heart like that, but it hurt so much, I didn't know if I could believe her completely.

     "Let's just... finished getting dressed, okay?"

     Sasaki let out a sigh of relief. "Do you forgive me, then?"

     "How could I not?"

     I'd stood my ground long enough, and I'd even felt such fury, but I hated being angry so much more than I hated what Sasaki had done.
