He'd nearly broken me, my eyes tearing and my voice cracking, even as I simply cleared it for my own vows.
"Wow," I laughed, hoping it would help the tears disappear.
I needed my voice to be clear. I needed to get everything out perfectly because...
I needed him to hear me.
"Jotaro," I began, sniffing and clearing my throat once again. "I always thought you were the scariest person. Like… that day at the Christmas party, I’d specifically tried to avoid bumping into you."
I thought it would be somewhat difficult to show Jotaro my own memories, but it wasn’t at all. As I began to speak, taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and just let him see. I let him see everything. The first memory was at the Christmas party. How we bumped into each other. How we sat beside each other and drank until we were completely plastered. Even a glimpse of that night crossed my mind, earning a blush from both of us.
“But I guess it didn’t turn out that way,” I laughed nervously, feeling his hands gently squeeze mine as I continued. "And… I was so scared of what my life would be like with my infamous boss, Jotaro Kujo. The untamable Alpha, Jotaro Kujo. But… as these days with you turned to weeks… I fell in love with the wonderful, loving man, Jotaro Kujo."
I found myself showing him a bright smile on his own face. His perfect teeth shone as we both laughed together.
"You're much kinder than anyone would expect. I think… a lot of people were worried that things wouldn’t work out, but… you’re… perfect," I spoke, tears suddenly building in my eyes again. "Seriously, I can’t find anything wrong with you. I loved hearing you laugh for the first time. I thought it made you appear more human. I love seeing you smile. You showed me your teeth more than I’d expected."
I then thought of the day at the ice cream shop as the next few words left my mouth.
"I love the way you say ice cream."
His expression was hilarious, bewildered, and shocked when I'd first admitted it that day.
"And I love the way you hug me every night like I’m your favorite teddy bear."
I showed him his adorable expression as he slept with his arms tightly wrapped around me.
"Jotaro, I love you. Even if there were really scary times, we always overcame everything together," I sniffed as a tear escaped my flooded eye.
Yuuji’s face flashed across our vision as I recalled that frightening night, but I quickly erased those images of Jotaro’s pained expressions and Mr. Tsukishima by opening my eyes. I looked into his ocean-blue orbs with a few tears streaming down my cheeks.
"And although it was an accident that brought us together, I don’t think anything could tear us apart.”
