"Jotaro!" I heard Mama's voice roar as Sasaki sat me down at the vanity desk. We both jerked our heads toward the door as she continued to yell at the sudden intruder. "I told you, Jotaro, you can't see her!"
"Jotaro?" Sasaki questioned with a deep frown. "What an asshole. Why's he trying to see you? Doesn't he know-!"
Sasaki's mumbling voice was overthrown by a wailing Mama and booming thumps on the door.
"I'll be quick!" Jotaro objected, his voice demanding. "Let me inside."
"Absolutely not!" Mama yelled.
I'd never heard her with such a powerful voice. She sounded so confident as nothing could break her defense. Mama was so sweet and caring. She was naive and selfless, but this was different. She was defying Jotaro.
I stood from my chair quickly, my eyes mindlessly wandering around the room as I panicked to find words to say. "U-Um-!"
"Y/n-Chan!" Sasaki whispered, grabbing my arm and pulling me back into the chair. "We don't have time to deal with him right now. We have to get you dressed and ready!" There was alarm in her voice, but her smile was hardly being concealed. "It looks like he's already eager to see his bride. I doubt any man could match him in a fight today."
I blushed, glancing at the door once more before my head was forcefully turned toward the mirror. My face was still a bit puffy from waking up that morning. I hadn't washed my face, I hadn't eaten breakfast-- though I didn't have an appetite regardless--, and I had yet to change out of my pajamas.
"You need a shower, some food, and a good smack in the face," She stated, nodding in approval at her wise words. I raised a brow at that last part, beginning to object when she continued. "Aren't you looking at yourself? You're still sound asleep, Y/n-Chan."
I stared at my face intently, wondering how she could tell. I was walking and talking, but I most definitely wasn't there. The biggest reason for this was that I'd barely gotten a wink of sleep.
I sighed, closing my heavy eyes with a silent nod.
After a thorough cleaning, ten minutes of Sasaki shoving different foods into my mouth, and another thorough cleaning, only now of my teeth rather than my body, I was ready to begin.
Sasaki dried my hair herself, aggressively blowing the burning hot air into my scalp and mumbling about how little time we had.
"Now!" She huffed. "We do your hair."
"Oh! I've been waiting for this part!" I exclaimed, grinning at the thoughts that came to my mind. I loved fancy things like styling my hair and dressing up, but I rarely got to do such things. No, I never got to do such things. So, of course, I was ecstatic.
Sasaki showed me a book, but I already knew the look I wanted.
"You want to look Korean?" She questioned, the offense she'd taken from my suggestion quite clear. "What about some of these western styles? Don't they look gorgeous?"
I glanced at the images as she flipped through the pages. They were all really pretty, but... they weren't me.
"I don't want to look like someone I'm not while marrying him," I explained, letting out a quiet sigh as I continued to look at the many beauties before me. "I don't want to look Korean, Sasaki, I just want that style."
I pointed at the picture on the second page, which was of a Korean woman with the innocent face I wanted. I was glad there'd been a style in the book that showed exactly what I wanted, but Sasaki didn't seem thrilled in the slightest.
"What happened to looking like a goddess?!" She asked, sharply raising her brow as though she was furious.
"Why... are you angry?" I hesitated, wondering if asking would only fume the flames.
"Why?" She scoffed. "You're too dense, Y/n." Her voice was sharp. Too harsh for my sensitive ears. "Don't you realize it would be like marrying his own little sister? And then making love to her?"
I blinked, my brows upturned in the middle as I felt her words puncture my heart.
"You mean, he doesn't love me as a-"
"You were drunk. He was drunk. It was an accident that you did it."
Yet another blade to my chest. I looked away from her, my lips pressed tightly as I tried to calm down. I didn't feel like crying. I felt... furious.
What did she know?!
