Chapter 27

PARANG walang buhay na naglalakad si Matthew patungo sa cafeteria ng unibersidad. Ilang araw na ang lumipas simula noong nagkasagutan sila ni Zean.

Simula noong araw na 'yon, hindi na sila nagpapansinan dalawa at parang wala namang nakahalata sa mga kaibigan nya.

Matthew took a deep breath before lining up.

"Isang tubig po."

Hearing that voice immediately made him stilled. He was frozen on his tracks, heart beating so fast. Nilingon nya ang pinangagalingan ng boses at mas lalo namang tumibok ang puso nya nang makita nyang si Zean iyon.

Wala sa sariling napatitig si Matthew sa dalaga at may kaunting pagbabakasakali na lumingon ito sa gawi nya pero kaagad din syang nadismaya nang tumalikod ito pagkatapos maiabot ang tubig na binili nya.

Matthew scoffed and chuckled dryly. Sino ba ang niloloko nya? Ginusto din naman nya na ganito ang mangyari. He should deal with it. Face it.

This is my choice. I should be happy. Yeah. That's right. Walang Akihiro ang mangbibwesit sa araw ko.

Pagkatapos nyang bumili ay kaagad na din syang umupo kasama ang mga kaibigan sa iisang lamesa. Nagsimula na din syang kumain at tahimik na pinakikinggan ang usapan ng iba pa nitong kasama.

Timothy shook his head, "Talagang hindi nila titigilan si Zean. Ang daming nagkalat na chismis tungkol sa kanya. It's like a fire, dude. It's fucking spreading like a wildfire in the forest! Buong unibersidad yata, may alam na."

Matthew can feel his blood boiling up again but still he chose to listen silently.

"Yeah. I wonder who's doing all of this? Ang tagal na na'tin dito sa university pero ito ang unang pagkakataon na may gumawa ng ganito." kunot noong sabi ni Denvee, "Why would they go that far? For what? Because of what? Because we are close to those four? The hell. Such a bullshit reason. People should really need to work out their jealousy."

Timothy let out a silent sigh, "The picture was creating so much noise. Naaawa na ako kay Zean. Palagi na syang pinag-uusapan ng mga estudyante. Some felt bad pero mas nangingibabaw pa rin ang mga pangit na salita para kay Zean. They're judging her based on that picture and called her names. It's irritating me."

"It's her fault naman."

Sabay na napatingin ang tatlo sa gawi ni Matthew dahil sa biglaang pagsasalita nito. He chew his food boringly when he felt the stares of his three friends. He took a deep breath first and clicked his tounge in annoyance before looking at them while he put down the spoon he was holding.

"It's her fault. Kung sana nilugar nya 'yung landi nya edi sana walang chismis na kakalat." He shrugged, "And she shouldn't be affected. It's her doing. It's her choice to do that in public in the first place. She should face the consequences."

"So you're saying that she deserve it? That this is Boss Z's fault?" kunot-noong sabi ni Keave, may bahid na pagka-irita sa boses nito.

At that exact moment, there was a fire creeping out inside Keave. He's been working under Zean for God knows how long and she didn't do anything except for being a good leader to him.

Nobody will dare to disrespect their Ischyros like that. Nobody. Not even Matthew. Not in front of Keave.

As much as he wanted to just punch Matthew for saying those words to his Ischyros, and just go all out to him and reveal the beast he's been taming inside to cover his true image, Keave didn't dared to move his body. Instead, he gripped the spoon he was holding tightly, venting the anger that is rising within him on the spoon.
